Job summary

Sanmina Corporation seeks a Technical Support Specialist for our Houston, TX site. This fully onsite role delivers day-to-day IT support for employees, desktops, software, phones, and network infrastructure.

You will maintain desktops, imaging, printers, and VoIP devices, assist with account administration, security, and user training, and participate in an on-call rotation to ensure help desk coverage.

Qualifications

• Must have 2+ years experience in a Windows/ChromeOS environment.
• Familiar with G Suite/Gmail and standard MS Office tools.
• Experience administering Active Directory users and computers.
• Knowledge of basic networking concepts and security software.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day technical support for employees, desktops, laptops, printers, and network issues.
• Maintain desktop security, data integrity, and user accounts.
• Communicate technical information to both technical and nontechnical staff.
• Recommend hardware/software solutions and upgrades.
• Imaging PCs and laptops; support VoIP and mobile devices.
• Resolve antivirus/anti-spam issues and assist with IT projects.

What You'll Do

This is a fully onsite position located in Houston, Texas. The Technical Support Specialist provides day-to-day technical support to employees, laptop/desktop systems, software, phones, and network infrastructure.

• Maintaining and supporting the Desktop environment, Installing, configuring and troubleshooting desktop and laptop systems, printers, workstations, peripheral equipment and network issues in a heterogeneous, fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Maintaining passwords, data integrity and file system security for the desktop environment.
• Communicating technical information to both technical and nontechnical operations personnel.
• Recommending hardware and software solutions, including new acquisitions and upgrades.
• Creating user accounts.
• Imaging PCs and laptops.
• Desktop phone support in a VoIP environment, and cell phone user support.
• Resolving anti-virus/anti-spam issues on user computers.
• Working with customer systems to resolve network related issues.
• Providing “help desk” support, resolving user problems with desktop applications, workstations, and peripheral equipment.
• Installing and maintaining application and desktop software products.
• Installing and supporting label printers and barcode scanners in the manufacturing environment.
• May participate in the development of information technology and infrastructure projects.
• May conduct training programs designed to educate users about basic and specialized applications.

What You'll Bring

• The ability to participate in a 24x7 on call rotation.
• G Suite/Gmail familiarity.
• 2+ years experience in a Windows/ChromeOS environment.
• Experience with
  • MS Office products
  • AD Users and Computers Account Administration
  • MS Security Administration
  • Basic knowledge of networking (Cabling, switches)
  • Microsoft Anti-Virus software.
  • Disk-imaging products.
• Certificate/diploma from college or technical school, or a minimum one year of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to lift equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
