Job summary

IBM Software is seeking a Technical Support Engineer to help customers solve complex security, networking, and infrastructure challenges in Confluent Cloud and Platform. You will work with customer engineers to diagnose incidents, reproduce issues, and provide clear guidance to both customers and IBM engineers.

Ideal candidates are passionate about streaming data, proficient with Apache Kafka, and comfortable on live calls. Experience with Kubernetes, Terraform, and Ansible is a plus.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in a technical field is preferred.
• Excitement about streaming data and Kafka expertise.
• Experience diagnosing and resolving customer issues in demanding environments.
• Comfortable on live calls and explaining findings clearly to customers and engineers.
• Proficiency with Linux command line and log analysis.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and resolve customer issues across Confluent Cloud and Platform.
• Lead live troubleshooting sessions with customer teams on production issues.
• Reproduce problems, analyze logs, escalate to engineering when needed.
• Provide real-time product feedback and write knowledge base articles.
• Support team process improvements and deepen Kafka/confluent knowledge.
