Job summary

Huntington Ingalls Industries, Mission Technologies, seeks a Technical Support Specialist to support the Pacific Beach network administrator, maintaining telecommunication systems and assisting with RF and data networks. The role requires flexibility for non-standard hours and security clearance (Secret).

The position involves operation and maintenance of DRMS, JTRS, MIDS, radios, fiber and Ethernet, with opportunities to contribute to range operations and system troubleshooting.

Qualifications

• 3 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 1-year relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 7 years relevant experience.
• Security Clearance: currently possess and be able to maintain an active Secret Clearance.
• Security+ certification.
• Voice and data communications systems.
• Administration and configuration of communication network systems.

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, and install telecommunication and related systems supporting range operations.
• Perform tasks independently per project objectives and requirements.
• Daily testing of DRMS, JTRS, MIDS, and related communications equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair network-based RF communications; inspect connections and cable standards.
• Install and maintain Ethernet, fiber, and data transmission lines; assist in LAN/WAN troubleshooting.
