Job summary

AMCA International in Arlington Heights, IL is seeking a senior technical professional to lead catalog review, standards development, and accreditation support. The role involves working with highly technical professionals, managing data, and applying AI tools to enhance testing processes.

Responsibilities include travel, collaboration with marketing and lab staff, and developing automated workflows. A engineering degree with 10+ years’ experience and HVAC expertise are required.

Responsibilities

  • Review manufacturers’ catalogs and selection software for compliance with AMCA publications.
  • Liaise with marketing departments of member companies to ensure integrity of technical marketing information.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in ANSI‑accredited test standards used in AMCA laboratories.
  • Develop understanding of physics behind AMCA test standards; visit manufacturers’ labs to evaluate testing capabilities.
  • Travel domestically and internationally up to 5‑10%.
  • Promote AMCA programs and communicate with members and industry professionals.
  • Utilize data analysis tools, automation, and AI tools to improve reviews, data handling, and reporting.
  • Develop automated workflows, data analysis tools, or AI-assisted tools related to catalog review, test data analysis, and standards documentation.

Job Function

The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with highly technical professionals at all levels. This role involves customer interaction, technical review work, standards development, laboratory accreditation activities, and the application of modern data analysis and artificial intelligence tools to improve technical review, testing processes, and data management.

Job Responsibilities
  • Review manufacturers’ catalogs and selection software for compliance with AMCA publications.
    • Liaise with marketing departments of member companies to ensure the integrity of technical marketing information.
  • Participate in Standards Development by working with engineering committees that develop ANSI‑accredited test standards used in AMCA laboratories.
    • Serve as a subject matter expert based on experience gained in the AMCA laboratory.
  • Support AMCA Laboratory Accreditation activities:
    • Develop a strong understanding of the physics behind AMCA test standards.
    • Visit manufacturers’ laboratories to evaluate testing capabilities.
    • Participate in periodic international travel.
  • Work closely with laboratory technicians and engineering staff.
  • Assist in promoting AMCA programs and communicating with members and industry professionals.
  • Utilize data analysis tools, automation, and Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools to improve technical review processes, data handling, reporting, and operational efficiency.
  • Assist in developing automated workflows, data analysis tools, or AI-assisted tools related to catalog review, test data analysis, and standards documentation.

Work Environment & Physical Demands
  • This position is in office at AMCA HQ
  • Physical demands include sitting for long hours, typing, and standing
  • Computer work and talking on the phone or in person
Travel Requirements
  • Domestic and International travel approximately 5-10%
