Job summary

Lucid Motors is seeking a highly skilled NVH engineer to advance SEA modeling, acoustic testing, and sound-pack development for next-generation electric vehicles. You will deliver full-vehicle acoustic packages and validate simulations while collaborating with integration, powertrain, and thermal teams to optimize cabin noise and overall NVH performance.

You bring 8+ years in NVH, expertise in SEA with VA One or Actran, and a strong DSP/psychoacoustics background.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering, Acoustics, Physics, or related field. Master’s or PhD preferred.
  • 8+ years of relevant experience for an NVH Technical Specialist and 5+ years for a Senior NVH Engineer.
  • Experience in acoustic package development and optimization (sound transmission loss & sound absorption coefficient)
  • Proficiency in Statistical Energy Analysis (SEA) for high frequency airborne noise simulation with ESI VA One and/or MSC Actran.
  • Strong fundamental understanding of digital signal processing, psychoacoustics, and the use of sound quality metrics to record, track and report NVH performance.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver the full-vehicle acoustic package for world-class NVH performance while balancing mass, packaging and cost.
  • Lead the development and execution of SEA models for full vehicle and subsystem acoustic simulations (e.g., BIW, closures, powertrain, ancillaries).
  • Develop and validate acoustic treatment solutions (heavy layer, absorbers) through simulation and testing.
  • Interpret SEA simulation results to guide design decisions and optimize vehicle acoustic performance.
  • Work closely with vehicle integration, body, powertrain, and thermal teams to embed acoustic considerations into system-level designs.
  • Support target setting and cascade process for vehicle-level sound package performance.
  • Correlate SEA models with physical test data and contribute to model validation efforts.
  • Perform, at a vehicle and component level, testing and assessments to improve airborne noise performance in prototypes and production vehicles.
