Job summary

Williams is seeking a Technical Specialist at multiple levels to ensure system integrity, safety, and reliable pipeline operations. You will engage in project planning, evaluate engineering documents, and support control systems programming and troubleshooting.

The role requires both strong technical and teamwork skills, with exposure to Allen-Bradley PLCs, Wonderware, and DeltaV platforms. We value safety, compliance, and continuous learning. Hybrid work is available for many office roles.

Qualifications

• Required: High school diploma/GED or Associate degree plus 4 years oil & gas experience.
• Preferred: Bachelor's degree in engineering or technical field and 7 years progressive experience.
• Preferred: Associate’s degree and 5 years in industrial controls with programming/troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Perform moderately sophisticated technical assignments ensuring system integrity and safety.
• Participate in project planning and collaborate with partners for data availability.
• Read and evaluate engineering design documents, contracts, and agreements.
• Program, troubleshoot, and maintain industrial control systems (Allen-Bradley PLCs, Wonderware, DeltaV).
• Adhere to policies and procedures and support safe operations.

Responsibilities/Expectations

• Performs moderately sophisticated technical assignments that ensure system integrity, compliance, facility equipment maintenance, and pipeline operations support
• Participates in project planning and collaborates with company partners to guarantee accurate and available data

Education/Years of Experience

• Required: High school diploma/GED and equivalent experience or Associates degree in engineering or a technical field and a minimum of four (4) years’ experience in oil & gas industry
• Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a technical field and minimum seven (7) years of progressive experience in field operations or other technical specialty
• Preferred: Associate’s degree and five (5) years of experience with industrial controls, including programming and troubleshooting Allen-Bradley PLCs, Wonderware, and DeltaV systems

Physical and Environment Work Requirements

• Must be willing to: Work in extreme temperatures, with loud noises and in enclosed spaces
• Carry or lift items up to 50 lbs and team lift loads of more than 50 lbs as needed
• Stand, walk, climb, bend, stoop, and squat, often for long periods of time
• Work at elevated levels, potentially from man lifts, ladders, scaffolding, and/or small towers, with appropriate PPE (Personal Protection Equipment)
• Use hand tools

Shift/Work Hours/Travel Requirements

• Available to work after hours, on-call rotations, nights, weekend shifts and holidays as the need arises
• May be required to work overtime, 10-12 hour shifts and travel between Williams locations with occasional overnight stays

Other Requirements

• Must possess valid State Driver’s License and clean driving record
• Exhibits excellent organizational/interpersonal skills and safety as a main priority
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Application and PC skills #LI-KK1
