Heraeus Medevio in Fridley, MN seeks a Technical Solutions Manager – Delivery Systems to translate customer requirements into robust technical proposals and lead programs from proposal through execution.

This onsite role requires engineering expertise, strong communication, travel up to 25%, and collaboration with Commercial, R&D, and Operations; MBA preferred, salary range $110k-$130k plus bonus and full benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Engineering, Materials Science or related field; MBA/Master’s preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in engineering or engineering project management.
• Experience supporting complex technical projects with structured PM methodologies.
• Strong interpersonal and consultative communication skills with customers.
• Willing to travel up to 25%, including international travel.
• Fluent English, written and oral, with strong presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Act as the quote director for new prototype and non-standard quotes.
• Partner with customer technical teams to translate requirements into actionable engineering requirements and proposals.
• Translate customer's roadmap and strategy to internal stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Commercial, R&D and Operations to evaluate design feasibility and project viability before finalization.
• Lead project kickoff after proposal acceptance and hand off to Project Manager.
• Screen inbound technical inquiries against capabilities and timelines.
• Develop technical marketing materials to highlight capabilities (lunch & learns, webinars, demos).
• Engage and build relationships with customer technical experts.
• Expand industry knowledge by attending conferences and independent research.
• Follow established sales processes.

Position Summary

The Technical Solutions Manager – Delivery Systems operates in collaboration with the commercial & R&D teams and serves as the primary technical sales interface for customers during the pre-execution phase of the product lifecycle. Operating within an assigned portfolio, the Technical Solutions Manager – Delivery Systems translates complex customer design, manufacturing and program level requirements into robust technical proposals. This position manages new programs during the proposal phase through project award and internal execution, leading efforts with the customer until it is seamlessly handed off to a dedicated Project Manager. The Technical Solutions Manager – Delivery Systems position requires technical competency in manufacturing and/or materials science combined with exceptional customer-facing communication skills.

This is an onsite position in Fridley, MN with approximately 25% domestic and international travel.

What You’ll Do Every Day:

• Act as the quote director for the internal Medevio team on new prototype and non-standard quotes
• Partner directly with customer technical teams to dissect product and project requirements and translate them into actionable engineering requirements and comprehensive technical proposals.
• Act as the Voice of Customer to translate the customer’s device roadmap, product strategy, technology, regulatory strategy and business model to internal stakeholders.
• Collaborate closely with internal Commercial, R&D and Operations teams to evaluate design feasibility, technical capability fit, and project viability before proposal finalization.
• Lead the initial project kickoff phase immediately following proposal acceptance, serving as the temporary project leader until a formal Project Manager is assigned to ensure a flawless handoff.
• Manage inbound technical inquiries and leads, ensuring timely and accurate screening against operational capabilities.
• Expand customer knowledge of Heraeus’ capabilities and products by partnering with marketing to develop technical lunch and learns, webinars, demos, and other key marketing materials to promote our capabilities.
• Engage and build relationships with our customer’s technical experts.
• Continuously expand industry knowledge within a specific portfolio by attending conferences and through independent research.
• Follow established sales processes.
• Other duties may be assigned as required.

What We’re Looking For:

• Bachelor degree in Engineering, Materials Science or related field required; an MBA or Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant progressive experience in engineering and/or engineering project management.
• Demonstrated experience supporting complex technical projects, utilizing structured project management methodologies to track timelines and deliverables.
• Strong interpersonal and consultative communication skills, with a proven ability to explain complex technical concepts directly to customers.
• Experience working within a regulated industry (medical device manufacturing preferred but not essential).
• Strong knowledge of Delivery Systems strongly preferred
• Experience with the development of medical devices preferred
• Ability to work independently
• Highly accountable for personal performance to affect sales goal achievement
• Must be willing and able to travel up to 25%, including international travel.
• Fluent English communication skills, written and oral
• Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills

Medevio is committed to providing competitive total compensation and benefits packages. The expected hiring range for this position is between $110,000 and $130,000 based upon a full-time schedule. This is a good faith estimate on the applicable range.Base salaries are determined by taking a variety of factors in account, including, but not limited to, candidate qualifications, geographic locations, market conditions and internal equity.This position is bonus eligible, with a target bonus of 15%.Our total compensation package includes eligibility for comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage, a 401(k) plan with company match, education reimbursement, paid parental leave and paid time off.
