This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys influencing technical direction, guiding system optimization efforts, and partnering with both business and technology stakeholders to deliver impactful solutions. You'll play a key role in shaping the future of Epic‑supported workflows while mentoring and developing technical team members.

As a senior technical leader, you'll help drive the evolution of a complex healthcare technology ecosystem centered around Epic applications and clinical workflows. You'll collaborate with operational leaders, technical teams, and end users to enhance system capabilities, improve adoption, and support long‑term technology strategy.

The role offers significant visibility, allowing you to influence enterprise decisions, lead complex initiatives, and contribute to technology roadmaps that affect multiple business and clinical areas.

What You’ll Do
Epic Platform Leadership

  • Guide system design decisions, application enhancements, upgrades, integrations, and optimization efforts.
  • Evaluate Epic capabilities and recommend solutions that improve workflow efficiency and user experience.
  • Support the ongoing evolution of Epic platforms through strategic planning and technical leadership.
Solution Architecture & Technology Strategy
  • Help define future‑state architecture and technology roadmaps.
  • Assess business challenges and translate requirements into scalable technical solutions.
  • Identify opportunities for modernization, standardization, and operational improvement.
  • Provide insight into technology trends, best practices, and healthcare IT innovations.
Stakeholder Collaboration
  • Partner with operational leaders, clinical stakeholders, and technical teams to solve complex challenges.
  • Facilitate discussions involving workflow design, system functionality, and implementation strategies.
  • Present recommendations, risks, dependencies, and solution options to leadership audiences.
  • Build consensus among diverse stakeholder groups and drive informed decision‑making.
Team Leadership & Knowledge Development
  • Mentor analysts and technical team members on Epic functionality, design principles, and best practices.
  • Promote knowledge sharing and continual learning within the team.
  • Contribute to technical standards, governance, and delivery processes.
  • Help cultivate a collaborative and inclusive team environment focused on service excellence.
What You Bring
  • Background working with Epic applications in a healthcare environment.
  • Experience supporting, configuring, optimizing, or leading initiatives involving clinical, operational, or patient‑facing workflows.
  • Typically brings several years of progressive IT experience, including leadership responsibilities within application, clinical systems, infrastructure, or enterprise technology teams.
  • Strong understanding of application lifecycle management, system analysis, solution design, and project delivery.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Demonstrated success building relationships across business, clinical, and technology teams.
  • Experience evaluating system impacts, identifying risks, and driving informed technology decisions.
Epic Experience Preferred
  • Two or more Epic certifications within areas such as Ambulatory, ClinDoc, Orders, ASAP, Willow, Cadence, Prelude, MyChart, Healthy Planet, Beacon, or other Epic modules.
  • Experience supporting Epic upgrades, optimization projects, workflow redesign efforts, or major enhancement initiatives.
  • Familiarity with Epic‑integrated environments, interfaces, interoperability solutions, reporting tools, and downstream systems.
  • Understanding of healthcare operations and how Epic technology supports clinical and business outcomes.
Nice to Have
  • Master’s degree or advanced education.
  • Prior experience leading enterprise healthcare technology programs.
  • Exposure to application architecture or solution governance responsibilities.
  • Experience mentoring analysts, engineers, or technical specialists.
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulations, interoperability standards, and population health initiatives.
What Success Looks Like

  • Improved system performance, workflow efficiency, and user satisfaction.
  • Successful delivery of complex Epic initiatives and optimization efforts.
  • Strong collaboration across technical, operational, and clinical teams.
  • Continued growth of team expertise through mentorship and knowledge sharing.
