Job description

Invent the future with us.

Ampere is a semiconductor design company for a new era, leading the future of computing with an innovative approach to CPU design focused on high-performance, energy efficient AI compute.

Description

As a pioneer in the new frontier of energy efficient high-performance computing, Ampere is part of the Softbank Group of companies driving sustainable computing for AI, Cloud, and edge applications.

About The Role

We are seeking a highly motivated, self-directed Technical Program Manager to lead the planning and delivery of software capabilities supporting a physical AI program. This role coordinates complex, cross-functional initiatives across software, hardware, systems engineering, product, operations, security, quality, suppliers, and external partners.

The ideal candidate enjoys creating structure from ambiguity and operating at the intersection of advanced technology, physical products, and execution. This role will establish the operating rhythm, processes, and visibility needed to deliver high-quality software predictably while managing dependencies across the product ecosystem.

What You’ll Achieve
  • Lead end-to-end execution of software programs supporting physical AI products and systems.
  • Translate program goals and product requirements into integrated plans, milestones, schedules, and roadmaps.
  • Coordinate work across software, hardware, firmware, systems engineering, product, operations, security, quality, suppliers, and external partners.
  • Establish and improve program operating mechanisms, including planning cadences, execution reviews, dependency reviews, and leadership updates.
  • Create clarity around priorities, ownership, dependencies, and milestones across teams and workstreams.
  • Manage requirements, traceability, dependencies, and change control using tools such as Jama Connect, Jira, and Confluence.
  • Maintain risk, issue, action, and decision logs; drive ownership, escalation, and resolution.
  • Build dashboards and automated reporting for milestone progress, scope changes, schedule confidence, quality trends, dependencies, risks, and issues.
  • Use automation and data integrations—including Jama, Jira, spreadsheets, and APIs—to streamline roadmaps, reports, and program metrics.
  • Communicate status, tradeoffs, and recommendations clearly to technical teams and senior leadership.
  • Improve delivery processes without adding unnecessary bureaucracy, enabling predictable releases with appropriate quality and traceability.
About You
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or a related technical discipline—or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in technical program management, software development, systems engineering, product development, or a similar technical environment.
  • Demonstrated success managing complex software programs across multiple engineering teams, stakeholders, suppliers, or partners.
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycles, delivery methodologies, and release processes.
  • Proficiency with Jira, Jama Connect, Confluence, or similar requirements and work-management platforms.
  • Ability to build and maintain integrated schedules, roadmaps, dependency maps, execution plans, and program-level reporting.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to identify risks early, establish accountability, and drive actions to closure.
  • Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, evolving, and ambiguous environment.
  • Working knowledge of automation tools and data integrations across Jira, Jama, spreadsheets, APIs, or similar sources.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting robotics, autonomous systems, AI/ML, embedded software, or other physical products.
  • Experience coordinating software delivery with hardware, firmware, systems integration, manufacturing, or operations teams.
  • Experience with requirements decomposition, traceability, verification, and validation.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD, DevOps, software quality practices, or release management.
  • Experience working with external suppliers, technology partners, or geographically distributed teams.
  • Experience presenting program status and recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Highly self-driven, organized, pragmatic, collaborative, and persistent in driving follow-through.
