Salute is hiring a Technical Shift Lead in New Albany, OH to oversee daily operations of critical data center infrastructure. You will lead and develop a technical team, coordinate across shifts and vendors, and act as escalation for complex issues and customer requests.

Responsibilities

• Ensure proper maintenance of critical data center equipment such as UPS, HVAC, generators, and security systems.
• Identify, report and resolve hardware or software issues in the data center.
• Monitor data center performance, including power, temperature and other critical factors.
• Keep technical documentation up-to-date and accessible (manuals, diagrams, records).
• Monitor ticket queues and respond to tickets within required SLA times.
• Stay current with technology trends and upgrade the data center as needed.
• Lead and train the data center technical team to perform tasks efficiently.
• Plan and schedule technical work to meet deadlines and optimize operations.
• Communicate status updates to team members, vendors and customers.
• Manage resources and personnel to meet data center objectives.

The Technical Shift Lead oversees the day ‑ to ‑ day operation, maintenance, and performance of all critical data center infrastructure to ensure reliability, efficiency, and compliance. This role leads and develops the technical team, coordinates work across shifts and vendors, and acts as an escalation point for complex technical issues and customer requests. The Lead will support the local site team on multiple daily (technical) duties in the datacenter and office. This position reports to the Chief Engineer.

This position is located in New Albany, OH

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensure proper maintenance of critical data center equipment such as Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS), HVAC systems, backup power generators, and physical security systems.
• Identify, report and resolve technical issues identified within the Data Center categorized as whether related to hardware or software systems.
• Monitor and evaluate data center performance, including power consumption, ambient temperature and other critical factors affecting data center operation.
• Keep technical documentation of the data center up-to-date and accessible to include user manuals, cabling diagrams, and maintenance records.
• Monitor Ticket queues and ensure all customer tickets and respond to within required SLA times.
• Stay abreast of latest technological trends and be prepared to update and upgrade the data center to ensure optimal operation.
• Perform all tasks of Data Center Shift Technician, including critical equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and data center performance oversight.
• Lead and train the data center technical team, ensuring all members possess necessary skills and experience to perform tasks efficiently.
• Plan and schedule technical work, ensuring deadlines are met and the team operates in an efficient manner.
• Communicate effectively with team members, vendors and end customers to receive and provide status updates to ensure all stakeholders are informed through completion of Work Order Request.
• Manage data center resources and personnel to effectively meet data center objectives.
• Supervise vendors and contractors working in the data center, ensuring compliance and security standards.
• Continuously evaluate the data center for opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness of operations.
• Provide leadership and guidance to lower-level staff through technical challenges while maintaining a positive and productive work environment

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 5 years of data center experience, operations, and maintenance of critical facilities.
• Leadership, supervisory, or management experience in data center and/or critical facilities environment.
• Knowledge of critical infrastructure - to include MV switchboards, Transformers, Generators, ATS/STS, UPS, PDUs, RPPs.
• Ability to read and assess single line diagrams, technical manuals and engineering plans.
• Experience carrying out MOP/EOP/SOP.
• Strong communications, both written and verbal, coordinating with local and regional teams.
• Commitment to organizational excellence and constant awareness to seek opportunities to improve processes/quality of deliverables.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities.
• Ability to meet committed timelines, leveraging assistance/input from team.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment, up to 50lbs.
• Ability to climb ladders and multiple flights of stairs to access elevated equipment
• Ability to stand for long periods of time in various work environments

• Basic physical fitness to respond quickly to emergency situations and navigate areas quickly
• Ability to move quickly and efficiently withing various work environments to troubleshoot issues or respond to emergencies.
• Good hand-eye coordination and dexterity for working with small components and connectors
• Clear vision , with or without correction, to perform tasks requiring attention to detail and precision while wearing safety glasses
• Ability to differentiate between color-coded warning signs, labels, and cables
• Ability to work in environments with a wide variety of temperatures inside a facility
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including extreme temperatures, rain, or snow
• Capability to work in environments with elevated noise levels while wearing hearing protection
• Possession of a valid driver’s license for work-related travel, as required

Compensation & Benefits Disclosure

The base salary range for this role is $87,000 per year. This range reflects a good‑faith estimate of what we reasonably expect to pay upon hire, based on factors such as skills, experience, education, and market/location. Our comprehensive benefits include health, dental, and vision insurance, Health Savings Account (HSA), gym discount, mental health, Discounted Group Life & AD&D, Discounted Group Short & Long-term Disability, 401(k) retirement matching, PTO/paid holidays, and parental leave. Final compensation will be determined by job‑related factors consistent with applicable law.
