Job summary

Guidehouse is seeking a Technical SETA SME in Space Science in Bethesda, MD. You will provide SME support across the lifecycle of a space research program, attending meetings and events as SME in space environment effects and satellite systems.

The role requires active TS/SCI with polygraph and a strong background in space systems engineering and geophysical data analysis. Travel up to 10% may be required; a Master’s degree is preferred for additional years of experience.

Qualifications

  • Active and maintained TS/SCI with polygraph required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, applied physics, electrical engineering, systems engineering, or related field; Master’s may replace two years experience.
  • Six years in space systems engineering, mission design, or space operations; include spaceship constellation operations, subsystems familiarity, and space environment effects.

## Technical SETA SME - Space ScienceApply: US - MD, Bethesda: Full time: Posted Today: 45166**Job Family:**Data Science & Analysis (ESA)**Travel Required:**Up to 10%**Clearance Required:**Active Top Secret SCI with Polygraph**What You Will Do:**The Technical SETA will provide support in the execution of the lifecycle of a research program from development, source selection, execution, closeout, and transition. The Technical SETA will be responsible for attending meetings, workshops, conferences, and testing events as the Subject Matter Expert. In this role, the Technical SETA will serve as the Subject Matter Expert in space science and space systems, with specialization in space environment effects, satellite systems and subsystems, space‐based sensing modalities, and the analysis of geophysical and heliophysical data.**What You Will Need:*** An ACTIVE and MAINTAINED TS/SCI Federal or DoD security clearance with a polygraph* Bachelor’s degree in computer science, applied physics, electrical engineering, systems engineering, or a related technical field. A Master’s degree may be used in lieu of TWO (2) years of relevant work experience.* SIX (6)years experience in space systems engineering, mission design, or space operations. Experiences should include, but not be limited to: + Working knowledge of satellite constellation operations, orbital mechanics, and space environmental effects on space-based assets + Familiarity with satellite subsystems (e.g., power, propulsion, attitude control, communications, payloads) and their vulnerabilities to space environment disturbances + Understanding of space domain awareness approaches and systems + Familiarity with space environment sensing modalities (e.g., coronagraphs, magnetometers, particle detectors, ionospheric sounders, GNSS receivers)**What Would Be Nice To Have:*** Master’s degree or PhD in computer science, applied physics, electrical engineering, systems engineering, or related fields, with FOUR (4) or more years of work experience* TWO (2) years of experience in the Intelligence Community (IC), including experience with requirements, CONOPS, and transition•* Knowledge of space weather phenomena and their effects on space systems, communications, navigation, and ground-based infrastructure* Understanding of the Sun-Earth system, including solar activity, solar wind, magnetosphere, ionosphere, and thermosphere interactions• Experience with geophysical data types, formats, and sources (e.g., NOAA SWPC, NASA heliophysics missions, ionospheric networks)The annual salary range for this position is $113,000.00-$188,000.00.
