Job Overview

TE Connectivity's technical support team manages various aspects of sustaining a product line for the Energy Americas commercial team, from presales technical support to creating new products and related documentation. The team collaborates closely with product management, sales, customer care, and manufacturing. They are responsible for overall product support to sustain the product lines and help meet sales and profit targets.

This position will be hybrid, with a few days onsite in Fuquay-Varina, NC. Must be within a commutable distance. No relocation offered.

What your background should look like:

As an Overhead Products (OHP) Technical Service Specialist, your typical day may include:

• Providing technical and commercial support to internal teams (sales, product management, production, engineering) and external customers for OHP products, including Wildlife & Asset Protection and Overhead Connectors.
• Interpreting customer specifications to select or create the appropriate TE product and providing technical support.
• Defining and systematizing customer-specific top-level products (substation takeoffs).
• Developing specification and sales support materials such as installation instructions, data sheets, cross references, etc.
• Coordinating prototypes for testing with engineering and offering technical assistance for design feasibility and necessary modifications.
• Creating installation instructions and managing part number creation in TE systems.
• Supporting Value Engineering (VAVE) projects to enhance profitability.
• Collaborating with OHP product managers to support growth initiatives.

Qualifications:

• Mechanical/Electrical Associate Degree or related technical field; candidates without a degree but with relevant work experience in energy/power fields will be considered.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in the energy industry.
• Experience in product management, technical support, manufacturing engineering, application engineering, field service, or technical sales preferred.
• Hands-on mechanical aptitude is a plus.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.

Compensation

• Competitive base salary ranging from $80,800 to $95,000, depending on location and experience.
• Total compensation includes base salary, incentives, and benefits.
