Axalta is hiring a Technical Service Specialist for an onsite, permanent opportunity with our automotive client in Louisville, KY! This is a second shift position (6PM-4AM).
Key Responsibilities:
- Support relationships with manufacturing and engineering at customer sites.
- Maintain communication regarding daily projects and line issues.
- Provide technical direction and assistance to customers on product lines.
- Possess working knowledge of paint technologies.
- Respond to questions and concerns regarding product lines and operations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve painting issues, providing recommendations related to product, application, inventory, and paint processes.
- Assist customers in overcoming line problems, gather data and samples for analysis, testing, and reporting.
- Assist with daily paint consumption, invoices, inventory, and paint orders.
- Collect and analyze data such as viscosity, temperature, and appearance using Wave Scan and film build devices.
- Report data collection results internally and to customers, notifying relevant parties if results are outside expectations.
- Support monthly plant quality reports, making recommendations on specifications and quality ranges.
- Assist with customer demand forecasting, inventory, and product orders.
- Support customer projects and test requests, follow up with chemists, review results, and report findings to customers if needed.
- Travel up to 15% for training, development, and coverage at other locations.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma required.
- At least three (3) years of automotive coatings application and/or manufacturing experience preferred.
- Understanding of technical principles and practices (lab, research, etc.).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment handling multiple projects.
- Experience with Microsoft Office applications preferred.
- Additional education in Engineering/Technical fields highly preferred.
- Experience with automotive painting equipment highly preferred.
