Job summary

LATICRETE International in Alabama is seeking a technical service specialist focused on installation materials. You will advise architects, contractors, and distributors on material selection and specifications.

You will draft specs, prepare literature, conduct seminars, and handle customer issues while collaborating with sales and field personnel. Travel is about 25% with some international assignments.

Qualifications

• Strong technical communication and presentation abilities required in construction materials.
• Experience in customer service within construction or building materials preferred.
• Knowledge of architecture/industry practices and materials is important.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook; ERP/CRM systems experience desired.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical service to architects, contractors, and distributors on material selection.
• Review blueprints and specs to advise on suitable materials.
• Draft specifications and details for architects/engineers/contractors/distributors.
• Prepare technical literature and documents for professionals.
• Conduct seminars for professionals in the field.
• Handle customer service issues diplomatically within authorized limits.
• Coordinate with sales/field personnel and update file systems.
• Identify and forward leads to the sales department.
• Maintain professional conduct.

Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities

• Provide technical service to architects, contractors, and distributors, advising on proper material selection for specific applications.
• Review architectural blueprints, details, and specifications to advise on proper material selection.
• Draft specifications and details for architects, engineers, contractors, and distributors.
• Prepare technical documents and literature for architects, engineers, contractors, and distributors.
• Conduct seminars for architects, distributors, contractors, and other construction professionals.
• Investigate and settle customer service and product complaints diplomatically and professionally within authorized limits.
• Handle input/requests from sales/field personnel and update the job file system.
• Identify and forward leads to the sales department.
• Maintain professional conduct.

Nonessential Job Functions

• Other duties as directed by Supervisor.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in the construction industry.
• 2 years of technical support experience for a building material or product preferred.
• Fluency in a second language preferred.
• Physical strength to lift and carry a minimum of 50 pounds frequently.
• Knowledge of architecture and construction practices and materials.
• Knowledge of LATICRETE products and applications preferred.
• Knowledge of competitive materials preferred.
• Technical communication and presentation abilities.
• Computer skills: Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Outlook; intermediate knowledge and functional proficiency in ERP and CRM systems; Oracle EnterpriseOne and SalesForce1 CRM system preferred.
• Team cooperation: maintain a positive, cooperative attitude with all employees of LATICRETE and all customers.

Minimum Educational Requirements

• High School Diploma; Degree preferred.

Travel

• 25% travel, with some international travel required.
