Job summary

Eastman in Kingsport, Tennessee, seeks a Technical Service Representative for the Biodegradables Technology Division to support customers with material conversion technology. Description

The Technical Service Representative will provide our customers with material conversion technology support within Eastman's Biodegradables Technology Division in Kingsport, Tennessee. Our customers serve numerous markets, including the food service and food packaging markets and use conversion technologies such as profile extrusion, foamed sheet extrusion, thermoforming, and injection molding. The successful candidate will be a safety-minded, detail-oriented problem solver and customer centric mindset.

Responsibilities

• Promote customer trials and evaluations.
• Understand the customer’s demands and challenges.
• Help develop technical information for customer engagement
• Knowledgeable about industry relevant secondary operations
• Partner with Product Development team to deliver products that a market needs and that will bring value to Eastman
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Technology and Quality Assurance, to develop and implement technical strategies and solutions.
• Stay up to date with industry trends, regulations, and advancements in feed technology, and share relevant information with internal teams and customers.
• Collect and analyze customer feedback and market insights to identify opportunities for product improvement and innovation.
• Provide technical content for product presentations, leaflets and brochures to support sales and create papers and posters for technical forums.
• Act as a technical advisor to the sales team, and assist with customer inquiries, product positioning, and market development.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and industry associations.
• Represent the company at industry conferences, trade shows, and technical forums.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in technical field required.
• > 5 years’ experience in injection molding and extrusion, and other conversion technologies particularly in biodegradable materials.
• >50% travel while working.
• Knowledge of markets and convertors associated with biodegradable food service.
• Strong existing relationship with convertors in biodegradable markets.
• Highly motivated self-starter able to work independently with no to minimal supervision and to collaborate across functional teams.
• Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-precision data collection.
