Job summary

Westlake Chemical seeks a technically skilled engineer to provide comprehensive support to production teams, sales, and customers, ensuring quality, process optimization, and compliance for polyolefin resins. You will develop data sheets, competitive resin guides, and collaborate with Sales and Marketing to introduce new products.

Requirements include a BS in Engineering (Chemical/Mechanical) and 5 years of polyolefins experience, plus proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

Qualifications

• 5 years of polyolefins experience in technical service, production, quality control, or R&D.
• BS in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
• Proficient with Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to plant operations and resolve quality issues; maintain product specifications.
• Evaluate commercial/experimental products and audit competitive resins; suggest improvements or new products.
• Serve as a technical liaison to customers; introduce new products and provide training/start-up assistance.
• Prepare product data sheets and resin guides; summarize market trends and technical issues.
• Represent Westlake in trade and technical associations (SPI, SPE, ASTM, TAPPI, NFPA).
• Ensure safety practices in lab and plant environments; report incidents and attend safety meetings.
• Communicate with management and collaborate across levels; assist colleagues as needed.
• Travel as required, up to 50% of time.
