Job summary

Yahoo in San Jose, CA is seeking a Technical SEO contractor to take ownership of crawl optimisation areas and drive improvements on large-scale websites.

This temporary, fixed-term role offers hybrid work with remote or office options, a collaborative, international team and opportunities to learn and grow in SEO.

You will analyse performance, create tickets with the product team and stay current with evolving search engine practices.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of technical SEO experience.
• Experience with large-scale website optimisation.
• Strong understanding of bot crawling and indexing.
• Proficient with crawling tools Botify and Deepcrawl.
• High proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets.
• Experience in project management.
• SQL experience is an advantage.
• Excellent English, both spoken and written.
• Team player with structured, reliable work habits.

Job Title: Technical SEO

Location: San Jose, CA, USA

Position Type: Temporary, fixed-term contract (3+ months, high possibility of extension)

Work Model: Hybrid (Remote or office work optional)

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of one or more areas under crawl optimisation such as XML sitemap optimisation, robots.txt handling or mobile parity.
• Analyze and optimise the assigned area of responsibility.
• Create tickets and liaise with the product team to address optimisation issues.
• Monitor performance and implement changes in the area of responsibility.
• Keep up-to-date with the latest developments in SEO.
• Work with the tracking team and report results of optimisation.

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of previous technical SEO experience.
• Experience working with large-scale website optimisation.
• High level of understanding of bot crawling and indexing processes.
• Proficient experience working with crawling tools such as Botify and Deepcrawl.
• High level proficiency in Excel and Google Spreadsheets.
• Previous experience in project management.
• Self‑motivated, detail oriented, and logically minded.
• Experience with SQL is an advantage.
• High level of spoken and written English (native speaker level).
• Team player with a structured and reliable way of working.
