Job summary

Note:

This position is hybrid 3x a week downtown Chicago, 2x remote. This client will not sponsor or transfer visas now or in the future.

Responsibilities:

This individual will specialize in Microsoft Purview, sitting at the intersection of Cybersecurity, Data Governance, Privacy, Records, and Legal/Compliance. Ideally this candidate will help build and manage the technical guardrails around the client's data. They will use Microsoft Purview to ensure information is appropriately identified, classified, protected, monitored, retained, and governed, while also investigating alerts or activity that may indicate data leakage or policy violations. The individual needs to understand how to translate business, legal, security, and compliance requirements- such as restrictions on where certain client information can be shared- into technical policies and controls within Microsoft Purview.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree with 5+ years of Security/Data Governance experience
• Strong Microsoft 365 experience
• Hands-on Microsoft Purview experience
• Experience personally configuring, implementing, managing, and tuning Purview policies and controls, rather than simply working in an organization that uses Purview.
• Strong understanding of compliance and data governance principles.
• Ability to translate security, legal, compliance, and data-handling requirements into technical controls.
