Job summary

Herc Rentals seeks a Technical Sales Support Specialist for Power generation to act as the technical liaison between sales, customers and operations. You will guide equipment selections, support quotes and ensure readiness for site setups across multiple US locations.

The role emphasizes collaboration with Sales, Operations and branches, travel to job sites, and delivering accurate, technically sound proposals. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential.

Qualifications

• BA/BS University degree or GED required.
• A valid driver’s license required.
• Knowledge of Power Generation, Batteries, and Load Bank equipment preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Gathering site details from team members and job visits.

• Writing contracts to help clients understand the proposed setup.
• Coordinating and assisting in building sales-focused training for the assigned equipment vertical.
• Tracking TST projects for the assigned equipment vertical.
• Supporting all team members within the Power generation vertical.
• Participating in Herc Rentals' Safety Culture.

Job Purpose

The Technical Sales Support Specialist serves as the technical liaison between Herc Rentals' sales teams, customers, and equipment operations, providing product expertise, application guidance, and pre- and post-sale technical support to drive rental revenue and ensure optimal equipment solutions for customer job-site needs. This role partners closely with Sales, Operations, and branch teams to assess customer requirements, recommend the right equipment and specifications, troubleshoot technical issues, and support the use of tools to deliver accurate quotes, pricing, and equipment availability. By combining deep product/equipment knowledge with strong customer-facing communication skills, the Technical Sales Support Specialist helps maximize fleet utilization, improve customer satisfaction and retention, and support Herc Rentals' broader sales growth and operational excellence objectives.

Requirements

Pay Range:

$90,000 - $110,000 base compensation + bonus
