Are you a NGS subject matter expert wanting to enter the realm of technical sales?

As the Technical Sales Specialist, you will support technical pre-sales activities within your region, working closely with the regional sales team and leadership. You will be the NGS subject matter expert for our solutions offerings, sharing knowledge through customer meetings, seminars, webinars, and other activities. You will also play a key role in closing sales alongside the regional sales team to meet your annual sales targets.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

  1. Partner with sales team and leaders to generate, qualify, and close sales opportunities.
  2. Collaborate with product management, R&D, applications, marketing, and field sales to develop and disseminate technical content, strategies, collaborations, and go-to-market activities.
  3. Maintain records and provide information to forecast business as needed.
  4. Gather and share competitive intelligence and market feedback with sales and internal teams.
  5. Provide weekly and monthly business/activity reports as required.
  6. Coordinate and conduct technical and promotional seminars, trade shows, vendor shows, and related activities.
  7. Achieve sales goals by engaging with customers through visits, emails, calls, and virtual meetings.
  8. Work with sales counterparts to develop account growth and support activities.
  9. Mentor and train colleagues and customers in technical aspects as applicable.

ABOUT YOU

  • Organized, detail-oriented, and results-driven.
  • Effective at networking internally and externally.
  • Capable of managing your schedule while coordinating with team members.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels.

WHERE YOU WILL WORK

  • Location: Remote, preferably based in key East Coast hubs such as NYC, Philadelphia, Boston, Washington D.C./Baltimore, or RTP.
  • Territory: East Coast Life Sciences Corridor, including the above regions.
  • Travel: >80% within the region for customer engagement, demonstrations, events, and market development.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING US

  • 8+ years of hands-on experience with NGS including sample prep, library creation, sequencing, data analysis, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with laboratory automation is a plus.
  • Background in immunology, cell biology, oncology, or molecular biology.
  • Strong presentation skills from one-on-one meetings to webinars.
  • Ability to create technical presentations.
  • Knowledge of sales processes and closing techniques.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in life sciences required; PhD preferred.

HOW WE WILL REWARD YOU

The salary range is $100,000 to $160,000 DOE, with potential incentive compensation per the Sales Compensation Plan. Benefits include:
