Job summary

Fives Giddings & Lewis in Fond du Lac, WI, is seeking a Technical Sales Engineer to develop quotations with accurate technical content, costing and delivery requirements. The role interfaces with engineering, purchasing, contract admin, accounting and operations to craft complete proposals.

You will travel up to 10% to customer facilities or work remotely with field staff to gather requirements, conduct meetings, and promote Fives products and solutions while maintaining ISO awareness.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or 6–10 years of related experience and/or training.
• Preferred background in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Professional presence and customer-facing skills.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and part drawings.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Machine tool, fixturing, application, or part processing experience preferred.
• Ability to travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

• Develop proposals, letters, work orders, presentations, time studies, and value-selling tools.
• Interface with engineering, purchasing, contract administration, accounting, and operations.
• Travel to customer facilities or interface remotely with customers and field sales staff to gather requirements and develop complete proposals.
• Review contract requirements and translate them into internal work orders.
• Conduct customer meetings and product presentations.
• Promote the sale of Fives Giddings & Lewis products and solutions.
• Provide market, pricing, and competitive intelligence.
• Maintain ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 awareness and compliance.
