Job description

Technical Sales/Business Development Manager – Downhole Tools

This role offers a competitive pay range, provided by Connect Energy Talent, with actual compensation based on skills and experience. The base salary ranges from $130,000 to $160,000 per year.

Overview

We are partnering with a specialized oilfield services company expanding its U.S. presence. This position is ideal for an experienced, self-driven technical salesperson who thrives in a lean environment and is eager to take full ownership of regional commercial development.

If you value autonomy, commissions, and reputation over titles, this opportunity is for you.

About the Role

Seeking a seasoned professional in completions or intervention who can sell independently without scripts or micromanagement. This is a commercially autonomous role reporting directly to leadership, acting as a bridge between U.S. manufacturing and international HQ.

Your goal? Drive sales, open new markets, and increase share among mid-size and independent operators across the U.S.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the U.S. sales strategy for a niche downhole tools product line
  • Build trusted relationships with completions teams, drilling engineers, and procurement
  • Identify and secure new business, especially outside Tier 1 service companies
  • Represent the company at field visits, meetings, and industry events
  • Provide market feedback to support product development
  • Serve as the main commercial contact for U.S. customers

Ideal Candidate

  • 8–10+ years of field or technical sales experience in completions, swellable packers, wellbore cleanup, or well intervention tools
  • Proven ability to hunt for new clients, not just farm existing ones
  • Comfortable working independently as a sole contributor
  • Results-driven, not hindered by bureaucracy
  • Willing to travel across the U.S. regularly
  • An engineering degree is preferred but not required

Why This Role?

  • True autonomy to shape and lead U.S. strategy
  • High-trust, low-ego environment with minimal bureaucracy
  • Opportunity to make a significant impact with a growing company and innovative product
