Responsibilities

General Summary

Safety Consultants USA, Inc. is seeking a full-time Technical Safety Consultant with partial work-from-home flexibility to join our growing Safety Services Team. This is a role focused on the development of written deliverables, and compliance-driven solutions for clients across both general industry and construction and will be responsible for overseeing and implementing safety protocols, conducting workplace safety assessments, delivering safety training, and ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety regulations. Other responsibilities include investigating workplace incidents, identifying potential hazards in construction settings, and developing strategies to mitigate risks.

The ideal candidate is an experienced safety professional with a creative mind and a strong technical writing background who thrives on solving complex compliance challenges, producing high-quality documentation, and helping clients navigate regulatory requirements.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
  • Inspection of construction sites and general industry facilities to ensure compliance and promote prevention.
  • Provide risk assessment of construction sites and general industry facilities to evaluate safety hazards and offer remedial actions.
  • Conduct safety incident investigations and complete associated infraction reports.
  • Conduct safety training.
  • Draft, revise, and maintain client safety manuals, written safety programs, site-specific/task-specific safety plans, emergency action plans, and corporate safety policies in accordance with OSHA, contractor/owner client requirements, and applicable industry standards.
  • Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs), process documents (LOTO / machine-specific procedures, etc.), inspection checklists, prequalification documents, JSA’s, risk assessments, training content, and other supporting safety materials.
  • Produce polished, professionally formatted deliverables, including cover pages, branded layouts, and visually consistent documentation for client-facing safety manuals and programs.
  • Responsible for in-depth research and collaboration with team members, external subject matter experts, and client stakeholders to ensure accurate and comprehensive content.
  • Translate complex regulatory language into clear, accessible content appropriate for the intended audience (field workers, management, or regulatory reviewers).
  • Maintain documentation libraries and version control across active client projects.
  • Advise clients on process improvements, helping to restructure safety procedures and implement new controls.
  • Manage and update client accounts on third-party compliance platforms including Avetta, ISNetworld (ISN), Veriforce, and similar systems; analyze gaps in client programs, questionnaires, insurance requirements, and other account compliance items and deliver solutions.
  • Conduct virtual safety training sessions for clients regularly (multiple sessions per month).
Requirements
  • Must be a certified OSHA 500 Train the Trainer
  • Must have 5-7 years’ experience in construction or similar industries
  • Must have a reliable vehicle. Travel to job sites is 50% of the time weekly. Out-of-town travel is required, but you will be home on the weekends.
  • 3 - 5 years of professional experience in occupational safety, with the majority of that experience in technical writing, document/template development, and program creation (not solely field-based safety work).
  • Strong background in Occupational Health and Environment Health and Safety (EHS)
  • Experience in conducting effective Safety Training programs
  • Proficiency in Accident Investigation and ability to document and analyze incidents
  • Expertise in Industrial Safety and risk assessment strategies
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat and other creative software platforms (particularly for in-depth document formatting, layout, and visual presentation of deliverables).
  • Proven ability to draft complex documents and templates from the ground up.
  • Demonstrated experience working in both general industry and construction environments.
  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1910 (General Industry) and 29 CFR 1926 (Construction) standards.
  • Experience with third-party compliance platforms (Avetta, ISNetworld, Veriforce, or equivalent) - including updating, modifying, and maintaining account compliance.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with a focus on clarity, accuracy, and structure.
  • Strong independent work ethic with the ability to manage multiple concurrent client projects and meet deadlines.
  • Certifications (CSP, ASP, GSP, or equivalent) are preferred but not required for candidates with strong demonstrated experience.
