Job summary

Loft Orbital is seeking a Technical Recruiter to scale our software and product engineering teams. You will own the full-cycle process—from sourcing to offer—for highly specialized engineering roles that support our satellite platforms and ground systems.

You will partner with hiring managers to identify and attract top talent in a fast-growth environment, leveraging LinkedIn Recruiter, Boolean searches, and Lever to build strong pipelines and pipeline health.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of full-cycle technical recruiting experience emphasizing software/product engineering roles.
• Proactive sourcing using LinkedIn Recruiter, Boolean searches, and creative engagement of passive candidates.
• Experience recruiting software, frontend/backend, cloud, and embedded/AI/ML domains is a plus.

We’re looking for a Technical Recruiter with a strong background in software and product engineering recruitment who is excited to help Loft Orbital scale its engineering teams. In this role, you’ll own the full-cycle recruiting process—from sourcing to offer—for highly specialized software positions supporting our satellite platforms, mission operations, ground systems, and product development. You’ll partner closely with hiring managers to identify, engage, and attract exceptional engineering talent in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

Must Haves

• 3+ years of full-cycle technical recruiting experience, with a strong focus on software and product engineering roles, ideally in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
• Demonstrated strength in proactive sourcing, including LinkedIn Recruiter, advanced Boolean search techniques, and creative approaches to engaging passive candidates
• Experience recruiting technical talent across software and product engineering disciplines, including frontend/web applications, backend services, cloud infrastructure, software integration, test infrastructure, and distributed systems
• Strong understanding of software engineering concepts and technologies, including Python, APIs, Git, Docker, CI/CD, automated testing, Linux, and cloud-based systems
• Ability to understand and translate complex technical requirements into effective sourcing strategies, including specialized areas such as mission-control and ground software, telemetry and command systems, mission planning and scheduling, payload tasking and monitoring, data routing, and automation
• Familiarity with recruiting for specialized software environments involving embedded C/C++, RTOS, secure web applications, satellite operations, flight dynamics, or AI/ML applications
• Proven ability to build and maintain strong talent pipelines for highly competitive, niche technical positions
• Ability to effectively pitch Loft’s mission, culture, and technical challenges to highly specialized, passive candidates
• Experience conducting phone screens, assessing technical alignment, and managing candidate communication throughout the full interview lifecycle
• Proficiency with ATS tools (Lever preferred), including maintaining accurate and up-to-date pipelines
• Collaborative mindset and ability to partner closely with hiring managers and the internal recruiting team, providing market insights and recommendations to improve hiring outcomes
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Nice to Haves

• Experience recruiting within the space, satellite, aerospace, robotics, autonomous systems, or adjacent deep-tech industries
• Direct experience recruiting for mission-control software, satellite ground systems, flight software, embedded systems, or AI/ML engineering roles
• Experience recruiting internationally, particularly across US and European technical talent markets
• Prior work in or close partnership with startup or high-growth technology companies
• Background in agency recruiting or experience managing multiple specialized technical searches simultaneously
• Familiarity with ITAR, EAR, and compliance considerations relevant to US-based space and defense hiring
• Skilled at using social platforms like LinkedIn to enhance employer brand and attract niche technical talent
• Comfort reporting on recruiting metrics, pipeline health, and sourcing performance

State law requires us to tell you the base compensation range for this role, which is $120,000- $150,000 per year. This is determined by your education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities. The salary range for this role is intentionally wide as we evaluate individuals based on their unique experience and abilities to fit our needs.
