Job summary

CoAspire in Northern Virginia is seeking an experienced technical recruiter to own end-to-end recruiting for engineering and production roles across Mechanical, Aerospace, Software, Electrical, and I&T disciplines. You will collaborate with engineering leadership to build strong talent pipelines and ensure compliance with ITAR and security requirements.

You will source passive candidates from defense communities, engage with hiring managers, and represent CoAspire at industry events.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of full-cycle technical recruiting experience in aerospace/defense or advanced manufacturing.
• Proven track record of sourcing and closing engineering and manufacturing roles across multiple disciplines.
• Solid understanding of ITAR-controlled environments and security-clearance processes.

Position

You will support technical recruiting for critical engineering and technical roles including Aerospace Engineers (AEs), Mechanical Engineers (MEs), Software Developers, Systems Engineers, Electrical Engineers (EEs), Integration & Test (I&T) engineers as well as Production and Manufacturing related disciplines. Working directly with engineering leadership, hiring managers, and production teams, you will build talent pipelines and proactively source passive candidates from the defense and aerospace communities. This hands‑on role operates side‑by‑side with the recruiting team and cross‑functional partners to attract, evaluate, and close top engineering talent while maintaining full compliance with ITAR, security, and equal‑opportunity requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead full‑cycle recruiting from sourcing through offer acceptances across all engineering and production disciplines including Mechanical, Aerospace, Software, Electrical, Integration & Test, Manufacturing, etc.
• Develop and maintain robust candidate pipelines using LinkedIn Recruiter, defense‑industry networks, clearance job boards, employee referral and targeted outreach.
• Partner with hiring managers and technical leads to understand role requirements, craft compelling job descriptions, and align on search strategies and success profiles.
• Screen candidates for relevant technical experience, manufacturing background, security‑clearance eligibility, and cultural fit.
• Support recruiting leadership of candidates from initial contact through technical interviews, offers and onboarding.
• Potential to represent CoAspire at career fairs, industry conferences, and professional networking events in the aerospace and defense sector.
• Build and develop recruiting processes for high‑growth environment.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of full‑cycle technical recruiting experience, within aerospace, defense, or advanced manufacturing.
• Proven track record of successfully sourcing and closing Engineering and Manufacturing roles such as Mechanical Engineers, Aerospace Engineers, Software Engineers, Electrical Engineers, and I&T professionals and Production roles.
• Solid understanding of engineering terminology, defense‑industry requirements, ITAR‑controlled environments, and security‑clearance processes.
• Proficiency with LinkedIn Recruiter and any Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS).
• Strong communication, relationship‑building, and consultative skills with both technical candidates and engineering leadership.

Desired Skills

• Experience recruiting candidates with active Secret or higher security clearances.
• GovCon sourcing experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
• Familiarity with talent‑acquisition best practices in a high‑growth environment.

The anticipated salary range for this position is $110,000-$150,000. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, qualifications, and internal equity.
