Job Description

The Technical Writer/Illustrator prepares technical publications according to project instructions, specifications (e.g., ATA 2200, S100D), and customer requirements. Responsibilities include creating manuals, service bulletins, illustrations, and supporting documentation, collaborating with engineers, technicians, and other writers, and participating in validation processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare Component Maintenance Manuals and Folding Procedures.
  • Create illustrated parts lists and breakdowns.
  • Develop Service Information Letters and Bulletins.
  • Coordinate with illustrators for artwork and diagrams.
  • Interpret engineering drawings and documentation for technical content.
  • Participate in program validation and document updates.
  • Design and layout technical drawings and illustrations.
Qualifications
  • Associate's Degree or higher; technical or engineering background preferred.
  • At least three years of related experience, including technical writing.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents, drawings, and specifications.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Basic proficiency with technical formats and documentation guidelines.
Physical and Work Environment

Primarily sitting work with occasional standing and walking. Must handle tools, interpret visuals, and work near mechanical equipment. Work involves exposure to fumes, airborne particles, and chemicals, with a moderate noise level. Reasonable accommodations available.
