Job summary

Baker Hughes is seeking a Technical Proposals Application Engineer to lead technical proposals during commercial cycles. You will define scope, coordinate with sales, and ensure technically sound, commercially viable solutions that drive customer value.

The role requires collaboration across global teams, strong communication, and an enthusiasm for digital technologies and AI in energy transition. Travel may be needed to support customer engagements.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related technical discipline.
Interest in new technologies, digitalization and AI.
Familiarity with or interest in Oil & Gas rotating equipment.
Willingness to travel as needed, including short-notice trips.
Strong English written and verbal communication.
Ability to work in a global environment and cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

Collaborating with the Commercial Manager, Solution Architects and Digital Sales Team during deal negotiations, defining the technical scope.
Analyzing technical specifications, tenders and RFQs, evaluating the scope of supply and risk factors.
Defining and preparing comprehensive Scopes of Work, including product optimization, digital solutions and training programs.
Developing cost estimates and managing cost control for all proposed technical services and solutions.
Identifying, assessing and mitigating technical implementation risks throughout the proposal process.
