Job description

Open position in Columbia, MO

Open position in Columbia, MO Visa sponsorship is not available for this position, now or in the future. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis without requiring employer sponsorship. Our company has grown rapidly through acquisition. 14 companies have joined our organization over the past five years, and many continue to operate with their own legacy tools, network hardware, and processes. We're looking for a Technical Project Specialist to take ownership of our active IT project backlog and drive it to completion. This is a project-execution role, not a helpdesk or ticket-queue role. You will not be pulled into day-to-day support tickets. Your job is to live inside our project management system, own a defined set of technical initiatives (network installs, system audits, tool consolidations, and merger integration work), and move them from "To Do" to "Done." You'll follow documented plans and standards, coordinate with vendors and stakeholders, and escalating technical design decisions to the Head of IT rather than making them solo. If you're someone who thrives on structure, likes checking things off a project plan, and wants hands-on technical work without being the person who designs the architecture, this role is built for you.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities (Other Duties May Be Assigned)
Own the Project Backlog
  • Manage the full active project list in Asana as your primary workspace.Timelines, statuses, blockers, and stakeholder updates
  • Break down larger initiatives into trackable tasks and keep documentation current as work progresses
  • Provide regular status updates to the Head of IT on progress, risks, and blockers across all active projects
Network Installations & Deployments
  • Execute on-site Unifi network installations at multiple office locations (Portsmouth, Dallas, St. Louis, Kansas City, Minneapolis and our Columbia office), following documented network standards
  • Support Unifi Fabric configuration and Unifi Identity rollout under guidance from senior IT staff
  • Assist with network documentation and consolidation efforts
  • Deploy and configure conference room/shared-space technology (Poly X30, Neat Bar, etc).
Audits & System Consolidation
  • Execute the Google Workspace audit (users, security groups, shared drives) using a defined audit checklist
  • Execute the Cloudflare DNS security audit and support domain consolidation across legacy company domains
  • Support consolidation of duplicate SaaS tools (Zoom, Asana, Slack) across acquired companies
  • Run the license cleanup effort, identifying and removing redundant or unused software seats
Endpoint & Asset Management
  • Execute the Jamf deployment for Apple devices at our Dallas office, following provided configuration standards
  • Own day-to-day asset management tracking and device shipping/logistics for new hires and office moves
  • Execute desk hardware standardization at acquired offices (e.g., TIH desk standardization) against a defined equipment list
M&A Integration Support
  • Support IT integration tasks for newly acquired companies: account migrations, network onboarding, tooling consolidation under direction from the Head of IT
  • Help consolidate scattered IT documentation from legacy companies into a single, organized knowledge base
Qualifications -

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Required
  • 1–3 years of hands-on IT experience (Specialist I) or 3–5 years (Specialist II). Help desk, systems administration, network support, or IT project coordination background all welcome
  • Comfortable working primarily out of a project management tool (Asana experience a strong plus) rather than a ticketing system
  • Basic working familiarity with business networking concepts (switches, access points, VLANs) — willingness to learn Unifi specifically if not already familiar
  • Experience with Google Workspace administration, Apple device management (Jamf or similar MDM/DMS), and SaaS account administration
  • Strong organizational skills — able to track multiple concurrent projects without dropping details
  • Comfortable following documented standards/runbooks rather than designing them from scratch
  • Comfortable traveling to office locations for on-site installs (estimate 20–30% travel)
  • Self-directed enough to execute a project list independently, escalating technical judgment calls rather than guessing
Nice To Have
  • Prior experience with Ubiquiti/Unifi hardware
  • Prior experience supporting an M&A integration or multi-entity IT environment
  • Relevant certifications (CompTIA Network+, Apple Certifications, Jamf Certifications, Google Workspace Administrator) — not required, growth-supported
Total Perks Package
  • The chance to be a part of a growing company and the next success story
  • Amazing opportunities for career development
  • Recognition programs
  • Employee referral bonus
  • Fun and collaborative work environment
  • Casual dress code
  • Insurance Coverage (medical, dental, vision, life, and disability)
  • 401(k) retirement plan, with employer 4% match
  • Work/life benefits, including mental health and wellbeing support
  • Flexible Time Off Policy
  • Paid holidays, including agency soft closing Christmas Eve-New Year's Day
  • Paid leave options, including sick leave, medical leave for self and family, and parental leave
