Job summary

Iron Systems, Inc is seeking a skilled cabling execution professional to plan and manage cabling for assigned zones, coordinating with construction trades and ensuring safety and path readiness. You will own zone quality, manage documentation, and drive defect closure with testing and remediation workflows.

The role requires hands-on copper/fiber installation, field execution management, and ability to interpret drawings and RFIs.

Qualifications

  • Hands-on copper/fiber installation experience with BICSI/ANSI-TIA alignment.
  • Experience in field execution management and schedule recovery.
  • Ability to interpret drawings, cable schedules, and manage RFIs/field changes.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and manage cabling execution for assigned zones, including workface planning and daily progress.
  • Coordinate with trades for pathway readiness, access windows, permits and safety compliance.
  • Own in-process quality for the zone: inspections, bend radius, labeling, and workmanship.
  • Manage zone documentation, redlines, cable schedules, checklists, and turnover packets.
  • Support test and remediation workflow; drive defect closure and retest.
  • Report status, risks, and recovery actions to leadership; maintain look-ahead and forecasts.

Job description

Responsibilities
  • Plan and manage cabling execution for assigned zones: workface planning, crew sequencing, constraint removal, and daily progress tracking.
  • Coordinate with construction trades for pathway readiness, access windows, and permit/safety requirements; ensure site rules compliance.
  • Own in-process quality for the zone: inspections for cable routes, support, bend radius, slack storage, termination workmanship, and labeling adherence.
  • Manage zone-level documentation redlines, cable schedules, completion checklists, and turnover packets for the area.
  • Support test and remediation workflow; drive closure of defects and ensure retest completion.
  • Report status, risks, and recovery actions to the TPM3/Service Delivery leadership; maintain look-ahead and materials forecasts.
Required Skills and Knowledge
  • Strong hands‑on understanding of copper/fiber installation practices and workmanship standards aligned to BICSI/ANSI‑TIA.
  • Field execution management: workface planning, crew leadership, productivity measurement, and schedule recovery.
  • Quality control: inspection checklists, defect triage, and rework prevention.
  • Ability to interpret drawings, cable schedules, and scope definitions; manage RFIs and field changes.
  • Comfort with tools for documentation and tracking (spreadsheets, ticketing/punch systems, cable test result repositories).
Certifications / Training
  • Preferred: BICSI Technician/Installer credentials or equivalent experience.
  • Preferred: OSHA 10/30 (or local equivalent) for construction site safety.
