Job summary

ALTEN Technology USA is seeking a Technical PM to lead embedded product development projects from concept to production. You will develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, budgets, and risk mitigation strategies while coordinating hardware, software, mechanical, PCB layout, and certification teams.

  • Minimum 6 years of project or program management experience.
  • Experience taking embedded products from concept through production.
  • Experience coordinating with teams using Agile development methodology.
  • Experience developing detailed project plans consisting of schedules, budget, risk mitigation, staffing allocation and planning.
  • Familiar with ISO development processes/procedures desired and gate model development.
  • Familiar with cross-functional coordination with quality, supply chain, production, offshore vendors.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, budgets, resource plans, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Track project progress, identify roadblocks, and drive corrective actions for successful execution.
  • Coordinate activities across hardware, software, mechanical, PCB layout, component engineering, production test and certification teams.
  • Facilitate Agile development processes and ensure alignment between engineering and business objectives.
  • Work with Quality, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Production Test, and external suppliers to support launches.
  • Manage project communications, status reporting, and stakeholder expectations at all levels.
  • Coordinate and oversee work by external vendors, contractors, and offshore partners as needed.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance processes and execution.

As a Technical PM you will be responsible for;
  • Lead embedded product development projects from concept, design, validation, and production release.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, budgets, resource plans, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Track project progress, identify potential roadblocks, and drive corrective actions to ensure successful project execution.
  • Coordinate activities across hardware, software, mechanical, PCB layout, component engineering, production test, and certification teams.
  • Facilitate Agile development processes and ensure alignment between engineering teams and business objectives.
  • Work closely with Quality, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Production Test, and external suppliers to support successful product launches.
  • Manage project communications, status reporting, and stakeholder expectations at all levels of the organization.
  • Coordinate and oversee work performed by external vendors, contractors, and offshore development partners as needed.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on enhancing product development processes and execution efficiency.
  • Participate in stage-gate reviews and ensure project readiness for key development milestones.
Qualifications;
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in computer science or equivalent.
  • Minimum 6 years of project or program management experience
  • Experience in establishing and/or optimizing product development
  • Experience taking embedded products from concept through to production
  • Experience coordinating with teams using the agile development methodology
  • Experience developing detailed project plans consisting of the following: detailed schedules, budget, risk/risk mitigation, staffing allocation and planning
  • Experience planning and coordinating projects with cross functional teams (quality, supply chain, production, production test, offshore board houses)
  • Familiar with ISO development processes/procedures desired
  • Familiar with working with a gate model development environment a plus
  • Familiar with the development activities/processes required by the following disciplines: hardware, software, mechanical, layout, component engineering, production test and certification

Salary Range: $95K-$130K

The actual salary offered is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, the candidate’s combination of job-related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience
