Technical Project Manager

Zeno is seeking a highly motivated Technical Project Manager to support the mission-oriented efforts of developing and bringing to market Radioisotope Power Systems (RPS) technologies. In this role you will:

1. Initiate project management framework and architecture for Zeno’s first-of-a-kind RPS projects
2. Coordinate multi-year schedule and cost inputs from Zeno stakeholders, including government agencies, the U.S. Department of Energy, National Labs, and contractors
3. Ensure sound project management methodology is applied for control of the projects by implementing and enforcing baseline schedule and costs
4. Manage, evaluate and make recommendations to the VP of Engineering for proposed schedule and cost baseline change control requests
5. Responsible for monitoring and ensuring Zeno’s, contractors’ and National Labs’ performance meets the baseline schedule and cost requirements
6. Support procurement activities such as procurement document development, acquisition, execution, and contract close out
7. Provide high-level technical input and recommendations from a project management perspective on key hardware design decisions
8. Assist with the development and refinement of Zeno project management best practices, policies and procedures

Key Qualifications and Skills

1. B.S. or higher in an engineering discipline from accredited university with > 6 years of engineering management or project management experience.
2. Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing schedules and costs in an aerospace or nuclear environment
3. Strong understanding of baseline change control and configuration management
4. Project Management Professional certification is desired
5. MS Project or equivalent schedule management software experience required
6. Atlassian product suite (i.e. Confluence and Jira) experience strongly preferred
7. Experience managing a first-of-a-kind or engineering design project strongly preferred
8. Candidate must be a self-starter and possess ability to coordinate and lead a project management effort with minimal direction
9. Able to meet deadlines and perform under pressure in an uncertain environment
10. Must have excellent written and oral communication skills

2. Physical exertion and/or requirements: Minimal, with ability to safely lift up to 15 pounds

5. Work Conditions: Stairs, typing/keyboard, standard and/or sitting working environment of >8 hrs./day
6. Position requires in-office presence in Seattle (South Lake Union) or DC (Mt. Vernon/Chinatown) on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, remote work is optional on Mondays and Fridays.
7. Travel: Travel is required, 10%-15%

Compensation and Benefits

The anticipated salary band for this position is $125,000-175,000. The final job level and compensation will be determined by various factors such as a candidate's relevant work experience, years of relevant experience, skills, qualifications, certifications, and other business considerations.
