Job description

Overview

LMI is seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager (TPM) to work onsite at Fort Bragg and lead the planning, coordination, and delivery of a mission-critical technical program supporting U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM). The TPM will integrate the work of cross-functional technical teams, translate mission priorities into executable plans, and ensure delivery against scope, schedule, cost, quality, and performance commitments.

The ideal candidate is a disciplined, mission-focused leader who can operate effectively in a fast-paced environment, communicate with senior government and corporate stakeholders, and remove barriers for engineers and delivery teams. Success requires sound judgment, strong program controls, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt quickly as operational and technical priorities evolve.

LMI is a new breed of digital solutions provider dedicated to accelerating government impact with innovation and speed. Investing in technology and prototypes ahead of need, LMI brings commercial-grade platforms and mission-ready AI to federal agencies at commercial speed.

Leveraging our mission-ready technology and solutions, proven expertise in federal deployment, and strategic relationships, we enhance outcomes for the government, efficiently and effectively. With a focus on agility and collaboration, LMI serves the defense, space, healthcare, and energy sectors—helping agencies navigate complexity and outpace change. Headquartered in Tysons, Virginia, LMI is committed to delivering impactful results that strengthen missions and drive lasting value.

This position is located onsite at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, and requires an active Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance.

Responsibilities
  • Lead day-to-day planning, execution, and delivery of a complex technical program supporting USSOCOM mission requirements.
  • Translate government priorities and technical objectives into integrated project plans, milestones, work packages, and measurable outcomes.
  • Enable cross-functional teams—including software, platform, data, cybersecurity, engineering, and operations personnel to deliver high-quality capabilities on schedule.
  • Establish and maintain program controls for scope, schedule, cost, staffing, risks, issues, dependencies, decisions, and contract deliverables.
  • Monitor program performance, identify emerging execution risks, and drive timely mitigation, escalation, and corrective action.
  • Coordinate priorities, resource assignments, and delivery timelines with technical leads, product owners, program leadership, and government stakeholders.
  • Support Agile delivery through backlog refinement, sprint and release planning, milestone reviews, and continuous improvement of team execution practices.
  • Prepare and deliver executive-level briefings, monthly status reports, financial and schedule updates, technical review materials, meeting minutes, decision records, and after-action reports.
  • Manage client engagements and working sessions; document requirements, decisions, action items, owners, and completion criteria to maintain accountability and alignment.
  • Ensure deliverables are accurate, timely, complete, and compliant with contract requirements, government direction, and LMI policies and quality standards.
  • Foster a collaborative, accountable team culture focused on mission outcomes, transparent communication, and delivery excellence.
  • Respond rapidly to evolving operational needs and perform other program leadership duties required to sustain mission execution.

  • Current Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
  • Prior military service or direct experience supporting Special Operations Forces (SOF) at the operational or headquarters level.
  • Working knowledge of Department of War (DoW) acquisition, cybersecurity, information technology (IT), and Authority to Operate (ATO) processes.
  • Proven ability to manage scope, integrated schedules, budgets, staffing, risks, dependencies, and deliverables across concurrent technical workstreams.
  • Experience applying Agile delivery methods and working closely with engineers, developers, architects, cybersecurity professionals, and product stakeholders.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to brief senior leaders and translate technical information into clear decisions and actions.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and relationship-management skills, with demonstrated attention to detail and follow-through.
