Qualifications

  • Experience as Technical Project Manager in ASME pressure vessel fabrication.
  • Knowledge of ASME Section VIII, Division 1 & 2, NDE methods, and PWHT cycles.
  • Ability to read fabrication drawings, data sheets, isometrics, and customer specs.
  • Strong documentation discipline: meeting minutes, logs, change orders, NCR resolutions.
  • Clear communicator able to manage schedule and scope conversations with customers.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple vessel projects.

Responsibilities

  • Review POs, data sheets, drawings, specs, weld maps, and delivery terms to plan each project.
  • Develop and maintain the project execution plan including schedule and milestones.
  • Lead internal kickoff meetings and report status in weekly production meetings.
  • Serve as customer’s main contact on technical, schedule, and commercial matters.
  • Identify scope gaps, manage change orders, and track invoicing milestones.
  • Monitor labor hours, procurement status, and project risks with mitigation plans.
  • Coordinate and review engineering calculations, drawings, nozzle schedules, and inspections.
  • Coordinate release of plates, pipes, fittings, and monitor vendor performance.
  • Work with production to mitigate shop-floor delays and resolve NCRs with engineering and QC.
  • Coordinate shipping arrangements and final logistics for vessels.
  • Other duties as assigned.

About BWFS Industries LLC:

BWFS Industries LLC is an ASME pressure vessel fabricator with 30 years in business, operating out of Northeast Houston, TX. We build custom vessels for energy, petrochemical, and gas processing customers.

Job Summary:

The Project Manager is accountable for the successful execution of custom-built ASME pressure vessel projects from contract award through final delivery. This role manages scope, schedule, cost, and risk while coordinating engineering, procurement, QA/QC, production, logistics, and the customer to ensure vessels are delivered safely, on time, and in compliance with code and contract requirements.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Review the purchase order, terms & conditions, data sheets, drawings, specifications, weld maps, NDE, material requirements, and delivery terms to plan each project.
  • Develop and maintain the project execution plan, including schedule, milestones, hold points, NDE sequence, and procurement plan.
  • Lead internal kickoff meetings with engineering, QA/QC, procurement, production, and report project status in weekly production meetings.
  • Serve as the customer's primary point of contact on technical, schedule, and commercial matters, including progress reports, RFIs, and drawing approval cycles.
  • Identify scope gaps or deviations from the original estimate, initiate and track change orders, and manage invoicing milestones.
  • Monitor fabrication labor hours against budget, procurement status of materials and components, and project risks, escalating early with mitigation plans.
  • Coordinate and review with engineering/design calculations, GA/detail drawings, nozzle schedules, weld maps, and inspection traveler creation, resolving comments and design issues.
  • Coordinate release of plate, pipe, fittings, flanges, and specialty items, and monitor vendor performance and on-time delivery.
  • Work daily with production supervisors, fitters, welders, and QC inspectors to mitigate delays on the shop floor.
  • Confirm NDE methods, coverage, and acceptance criteria, and resolve nonconformance reports (NCRs) with engineering, QC, and the customer.
  • Coordinate shipping arrangements and final logistics for vessels and ship-loose items.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Prior experience as a Technical Project Manager in ASME pressure vessel fabrication, Engineering, or a closely related heavy fabrication environment.
  • Working knowledge of ASME Section VIII, Division 1 and 2 pressure vessel code, and familiarity with WPS/PQR, NDE methods, and PWHT cycles.
  • Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings, data sheets, isometrics, and customer specifications.
  • Strong documentation discipline: meeting minutes, action logs, change order development, client approvals, and NCR resolutions.
  • Clear, proactive communicator who can manage difficult schedule and scope conversations while maintaining customer trust.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple vessel projects simultaneously.
  • Financial awareness: tracking budgets, labor and material costs, and change orders.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office/Microsoft Suite (Microsoft Project for scheduling).
  • Strong organizational and time management skills; team-oriented.
