Job summary

Pointr is seeking a Technical Project Manager to drive success for our global clients. You will own end-to-end project lifecycles, coordinate cross‑functional teams, and ensure timely delivery of indoor mapping and analytics solutions.

In this hybrid Boston role, you will partner with clients and internal teams, manage deployments, and continuously improve processes. A base salary around $120k plus bonus and stock options is offered, with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of IT project management or technical consultancy experience in a hardware or software company.
• Experience leading delivery and support phases of the customer lifecycle.
• Strong command of agile software development processes and learning about indoor location technology.
• Ability to communicate in English fluently and idiomatically.

Responsibilities

• Own requirements gathering, project planning, implementation, and deployment support for global clients.
• Own ongoing support of existing customers, including upgrades and expansion.
• Collaborate with clients and technical teams to resolve mapping and wayfinding issues.
• Partner with stakeholders to educate on Pointr’s solutions and deployment processes.
• Coordinate with developers, designers, and deployment managers to integrate Pointr tech with client apps.
• Diagnose hardware and software challenges with delivery teams.
• Facilitate client status meetings to manage scope and timelines.
• Learn Pointr product suite to inform roadmap and better serve clients.

Role Overview

Technical Project Managers (TPMs) are the engine that drives our clients’ success. They are adept communicators with strong technical knowledge and a knack for problem-solving.

At Pointr, we empower TPMs to partner with clients and internal teams to deliver premier indoor technology solutions. To that end, they are comfortable operating in a flat, fast-paced organization and are energized by leveraging cutting‑edge technology to create the future of indoor experiences.

At its core, this role requires the TPM to combine tactical execution skills with strategic expertise to lead cross‑functional teams through multiple, often concurrent project lifecycles.

Core Responsibilities

• As assigned, own requirements gathering, project planning, implementation, and deployment support for our global clients and partners, ensuring timely, efficient delivery and high levels of customer satisfaction.
• As assigned, own ongoing support of existing customers, including upgrades, expansion, and further product integration.
• Work with clients to identify and resolve mapping and wayfinding issues. Coordinate and solve these issues working closely with technical teams.
• Proactively partner with commercial and technical stakeholders, regularly educating them on Pointr’s solutions and deployment process while serving as a key partner to their success
• Closely collaborate with developers, designers, and deployment managers to integrate Pointr’s suite of technology with client applications
• Investigate and diagnose hardware and software challenges alongside Pointr’s delivery teams to ensure solution quality and sustainability
• Facilitate client status meetings to manage the scope and schedule of multiple, often concurrent deployments
• Learn! Master Pointr’s product suite to better understand how clients can use our technology and in turn supplement our product roadmap
• Engage in proactive and timely communication that consistently impresses our clients.

Minimum Qualifications

• 5+ years of IT project management or technical consultancy experience in a hardware or software company
• Demonstrated ability to move in a fast‑paced environment, learning on the job while juggling multiple deliveries.
• Experience leading the delivery and support phases of the customer lifecycle.
• A self‑starter by nature with applied knowledge of agile software development processes and a strong interest in learning about indoor location technology

• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to solve problems and foster relationships with technical and commercial stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

• BS or MS degree in a relevant technology or management field (Computer Science is a plus)
• Experience with project management tools (Jira, Smartsheet, Google Suite, MS Office, MS Project)
• Project Management Professional® (PMP) / Certified ScrumMaster® (CSM) certifications preferred
