Job summary

Johnson Technology Systems Inc is seeking an experienced Technical Project Lead to direct the end-to-end migration from SAP ECC to SAP S/4HANA Cloud. You will own the project plan, governance and delivery, coordinating SAP functional and technical teams, system integrators, cloud providers and government stakeholders.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years in IT project management with SAP migrations and strong skills in project governance, risk management and stakeholder communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business or related field.
• 7+ years of IT project or program management experience, incl. 3+ years leading SAP implementations.
• Experience leading SAP ECC-to-S/4HANA migrations or greenfield S/4HANA Cloud.
• Experience with SAP Activate and RISE with SAP and/or GROW with SAP.
• Experience with SAP data-migration governance, testing, cutover planning, go-live and hypercare.

• Own the integrated project plan across SAP Activate phases, including scope, schedule, budget, resources and dependencies.
• Establish project governance, RAID management, status reporting and executive escalation procedures.
• Coordinate functional configuration, data migration, custom-code remediation and testing.
• Review Readiness Check and migration outputs and translate findings into actionable workstreams.
• Oversee data profiling, cleansing, mock migrations, reconciliation and production cutover.
• Coordinate interface migration to SAP Integration Suite/BTP and support clean-core.

Position SummaryThe Technical Project Lead will direct the end-to-end migration of the system from SAP ECC to SAP S/4HANA Cloud, Private Edition. This individual will own the project plan, governance and delivery while coordinating SAP functional and technical teams, system-integrator partners, cloud/MSP providers and government stakeholders.
The ideal candidate combines strong SAP project leadership with sufficient technical knowledge to evaluate migration assessments, challenge implementation and cutover plans, identify risks and explain technical decisions in clear business terms.
Key Responsibilities

• Own the integrated project plan across SAP Activate phases, including scope, schedule, budget, resources and dependencies.
• Establish project governance, RAID management, status reporting, decision paths and executive escalation procedures.
• Coordinate functional configuration, data migration, custom-code remediation, integrations, security, testing, training and organizational change.
• Review SAP Readiness Check, Business Scenario Recommendations and custom-code assessment outputs and convert findings into actionable workstreams.
• Oversee data profiling, cleansing, mock migrations, reconciliation and production cutover using SAP Migration Cockpit, Syniti or related tools.
• Track fit-to-standard decisions, SAP Best Practices alignment and the RICEFW backlog.
• Coordinate interface migration to SAP Integration Suite/BTP while supporting clean-core principles.
• Manage testing across unit, integration, regression and UAT cycles, including defect tracking and resolution.
• Own cutover sequencing, rehearsals, go/no-go criteria, command-center coordination and production deployment.
• Identify and mitigate risks involving data quality, custom-code debt, integrations, security and organizational readiness.
• Partner with change-management and training teams to support adoption of SAP Fiori and new business processes.
• Manage hypercare, defect triage and knowledge transfer to the ongoing support organization.
• Serve as the primary liaison among business sponsors, process owners, IT leadership, government stakeholders and delivery partners.

Required Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of IT project or program management experience, including at least 3 years leading SAP implementations, upgrades or migrations.
• Experience managing at least one complete SAP ECC-to-S/4HANA migration or greenfield S/4HANA Cloud implementation.
• Working knowledge of SAP Activate and RISE with SAP and/or GROW with SAP.
• Experience with SAP data-migration governance, testing, cutover planning, go-live and hypercare.
• Ability to interpret SAP Readiness Check and custom-code assessment results and communicate their business impact.
• Understanding of greenfield, brownfield and selective-data-transition migration approaches.
• Knowledge of clean-core principles, cloud extensibility, SAP BTP, APIs and SAP security/identity concepts.
• Experience coordinating cloud/MSP providers and managing system interfaces across AWS, Azure or Google Cloud environments.
• Familiarity with SAP functional areas such as FI/CO, MM, SD and PP.
• Strong command of project-management tools such as MS Project, Jira, Azure DevOps or Smartsheet.
• Executive communication, stakeholder management, vendor management and risk-management skills.
