Job summary

Baseten in San Francisco is hiring its first Technical Program Manager for the Model Performance org. This zero-to-one role builds the planning structure, execution processes, and metrics needed to productize high-performance inference.

You will own cross-functional programs, coordinate releases end to end, and drive alignment across performance, infra, and APIs while turning ambitious initiatives into a predictable, well-governed program.

Qualifications

• Deep technical program management experience at a complex org.
• Experience with model performance or inference optimization tools.
• Comfort with ambiguity and zero-to-one program building.
• Ability to influence across engineers, managers, and leadership.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to explain technical programs clearly.
• High ownership and accountability with follow-through.

Responsibilities

• Own execution across Model Performance's active project portfolio.
• Design planning structures, operating cadences, and status reporting mechanisms.
• Coordinate model release and optimization programs end to end, including day-zero launches and sequencing across teams.
• Drive cross-team alignment as scope expands from Model Performance Core into Model APIs and inference production stack.
• Surface risks and dependencies early, and keep leadership informed with clear, honest status.
• Partner with engineering leads to design team structures and ownership boundaries as the org scales.
