Job summary

Sophus IT Solutions seeks a Senior Technical Program Manager to lead a portfolio of enterprise initiatives, including Microsoft 365 governance, information protection, and records retention. You will translate strategic objectives into roadmaps and coordinate delivery across engineering, security, legal, and business stakeholders.

The role requires technical depth to engage in architecture and platform discussions while ensuring SMEs retain ownership of detailed design.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience leading complex, cross-functional enterprise technology programs from ambiguity through implementation.
• Strong program management capabilities across roadmaps, scope, dependencies, risk, resources, governance, decision management, and executive reporting.
• Sufficient technical depth to participate credibly in architecture, engineering, security, and platform-governance discussions without replacing the technical SMEs.
• Experience coordinating engineering, security, architecture, legal or compliance, vendors, service owners, and business stakeholders in a federated environment.
• Experience leading governance, operating model, security, compliance, information management, or platform transformation programs.
• Strong written communication, facilitation, stakeholder management, and executive-presentation skills.
• Experience using Jira and Confluence or comparable tools for program planning, decision documentation, dependency tracking, and roadmap reporting.

Position Summary

The Senior Technical Program Manager leads a portfolio of enterprise initiatives spanning Microsoft 365 governance, information protection, records retention, collaboration security, platform modernization, and operational maturity. The role translates strategic, security, compliance, and business objectives into executable roadmaps and coordinates delivery across engineering, Information Security, Legal, Records Management, Enterprise Architecture, service owners, vendors, and business stakeholders.

The role requires enough technical depth to follow architecture and engineering discussions, identify cross-platform dependencies, challenge assumptions, and make informed program decisions. Direct implementation and detailed solution design remain with the appropriate technical SMEs. Microsoft 365 or adjacent enterprise-technology experience is strongly preferred because it will materially improve credibility, ramp-up, and effectiveness.

Initiative Scope

Anticipated initiatives include M365 Data Security / Project Horizon, SharePoint Governance, Records Retention and AI Records, Exchange Governance and Email Security, Microsoft 365 Group Governance, Data Backup and Restore, Classic SharePoint Modernization,ICS Decommission and Document Migration, and the Solution Delivery Intake and Operating Model. Internal Communications Enablement and day-to-day Interact leadership are outside this coverage profile.

Required Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

• Direct experience with Microsoft 365 technology, particularly SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Exchange Online, Microsoft Purview, information protection, sensitivity labels, records retention, eDiscovery, Microsoft 365 Groups, identity and permissions, migration, backup, or recovery.
• Experience leading Microsoft 365 governance, tenant-wide transformation, information lifecycle, data classification, data-loss prevention, insider-risk, or data-egress initiatives.
• Experience in a regulated, risk-conscious, or globally distributed enterprise environment.
• Experience partnering with deeply technical SMEs while retaining program accountability and technical credibility.
• Experience transitioning project capabilities into sustainable operations and coordinating vendors, procurement, licensing, or contingent resources.
