Job summary

Google is seeking a Technical Program Manager to lead complex, multi-disciplinary data center infrastructure projects. You will plan requirements, identify risks, manage schedules, and communicate with cross-functional partners across the company.

You’ll articulate tradeoffs between engineering and product teams to drive effective decisions. Focus areas include space, power, cooling, and fiber across Google Public Sector data center facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Translate physical infrastructure demands to building design requirements.
  • Collaborate with design engineering firms, contractors, DC providers, and partner teams.
  • Review design and construction plans, provide input on MEP systems.
  • Provide reporting and project tracking for data center design/construction.
  • Coordinate approvals and manage budget/schedule for multiple projects.

Job description

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or
    equivalent practical experience.

  • 5 years of experience in program management.

  • Experience with data center physical infrastructure (e.g., space, power,
    cooling, fiber).

  • Experience with ICD-705 Sensitive Compartmentalized Information Facility
    (SCIF) requirements.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:


  • 5 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.

  • Experience in an engineering or program management role involving
    multi-disciplinary fields such as network, fiber, electrical, or mechanical
    (cooling).

  • Experience working on defining and designing data center infrastructure.

  • Experience in construction management.

  • Network engineering experience or familiarity with network architectures.

Network Infrastructure Engineering (NIE) is responsible for the planning, evaluation, design, and construction of Google's space in data center facilities across the globe. We're looking for Technical Program Managers (TPMs) and engineers who can help us to evaluate, plan, design, cost, and build new and enhanced space in data center facilities. We are constantly in a state of evaluations, design, and construction across the globe, we need team members who can help us execute on our goal to design and build spaces that last us multiple years.

US: $163000 - $236000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits

RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Partner with stakeholders to translate physical infrastructure demands (space, power, cooling, fiber) to requirements of building designs.

  • Work closely with design engineering firms, construction contractors, DC providers, and other partner teams to develop solutions that can be deployed to support Google’s Public Sector (GPS) ICD-705 data center demands.

  • Review design and construction plans, providing technical input on MEP systems.

  • Provide reporting and project tracking of Google Public Sector (GPS) data center design and construction projects.

  • Coordinate necessary financial/technical approvals and manage budget/schedule for multiple concurrent projects.
