Job description

Job Title: Technical Program Manager (Compute Space)

Location: San Francisco (US) (60% Onsite)

Flex Pay Rate: $60-$70/hr (max)

We are seeking a highly motivated Technical Program Manager (TPM) to support the Compute Space team. This role is ideal for someone who is driven, detail-oriented, organized, and ready to jump in to help manage and streamline operational and coordination activities across compute engineering, hardware development, and infrastructure planning teams. A go-getter attitude, high energy, and the ability to operate independently with minimal guidance are essential for success in this role.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of compute hardware and server environments and will be comfortable working across engineering, ODMs, suppliers, and internal infrastructure teams to drive complex hardware programs from development through production.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive materials, hardware, and program dependencies between component suppliers, ODMs, and internal engineering teams to ensure on-time deliveries through all hardware development phases: EVT (Engineering Validation Test), DVT (Design Validation Test), PVT (Production Validation Test), and MP (Mass Production).

  • Coordinate with cross-functional engineering teams, ODMs, and suppliers to support TPMs in executing multiple compute NPI programs. Manage team action items, dependencies, risks, and follow-ups to facilitate on-time program delivery.

  • Own and maintain SOT (Source of Truth) schedules from vendors and ODMs through the internal core team, providing regular updates during weekly program meetings.

  • Track key compute hardware milestones, deliverables, dependencies, and risks across development, validation, and production.

  • Format and maintain program documentation, dashboards, schedules, and status reports with guidance from TPMs.

  • Gather, consolidate, and communicate feedback and status from engineering teams for recurring updates to management and the broader organization.

  • Help identify and drive resolution of cross-functional issues impacting compute hardware development, system integration, validation, and production readiness.

  • Support day-to-day program execution, including action-item tracking, meeting coordination, status updates, and other hands-on activities required to keep programs on track and aligned.

  • Ensure key project documentation, schedules, milestones, and dependencies are accurate, current, and accessible to the broader team.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Go-getter attitude: High energy, self-motivated, and able to jump in with minimal guidance to get things done.

  • Passionate about learning new compute and hardware technologies.

  • Strong project management and project coordination skills.

  • Solid experience supporting complex hardware development programs through the NPI lifecycle.

  • Good working knowledge of compute platforms, server systems, and data center hardware environments.

  • Understanding of system-level compute architectures, including CPUs, GPUs, memory, networking, storage, and associated server components.

  • Exceptional attention to detail, ownership, and follow-through.

  • Comfortable taking on hands‑on operational and coordination tasks to support the broader team.

  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work effectively across engineering, operations, supply chain, ODM, and supplier organizations.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in technical program management, with a strong focus on system-level hardware and/or compute platform development.

  • Proven track record managing complex hardware development programs from concept through production.

  • Solid understanding of compute hardware design, system integration, bring-up, validation, and manufacturing processes.

  • Experience with compute platforms, server systems, or data center hardware is highly desirable.

  • Demonstrated experience with material planning, supply chain coordination, vendor/ODM management, and supporting high-volume production ramp-up.

  • Strong understanding of hardware NPI processes, including EVT, DVT, PVT, and Mass Production.

  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify dependencies and drive issues to closure.

  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across engineering teams and communicate program status and risks to executive leadership.
