HireArt is helping an on-demand, autonomous ride-hailing company find a Technical Program Manager - Body & Closures to support the development of vehicle body systems.
In this role, you'll support the execution of current-generation vehicle programs while partnering closely with mechanical engineering, manufacturing, quality, sustaining engineering, supply chain, and external suppliers. You'll manage project schedules, coordinate hardware builds, track technical issues, and help drive engineering activities from design through production, with opportunities to support future vehicle programs as the team grows.

You're naturally curious, eager to understand technical challenges, and thrive in a fast-paced environment where cross-functional collaboration is essential.
As a Technical Program Manager - Body & Closures, you'll:
- Build, maintain, and communicate detailed project schedules for body mechanisms, sealing systems, and structural integration programs.
- Coordinate with external suppliers to manage hardware build plans, part deliveries, and program milestones.
- Track engineering sign-offs, program timing, and milestone completion to ensure projects remain on schedule.
- Monitor build issues, support root cause investigations, and help drive issue resolution through cross-functional teams.
- Partner with mechanical engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and sustaining engineering to coordinate product development activities.
- Attend supplier meetings, document action items, manage escalations, and ensure timely follow-up.
- Support drawing updates, engineering releases, engineering change requests, and change actions through product lifecycle management processes.
- Maintain Jira tickets, schedules, and program documentation while communicating project status, risks, and roadblocks to stakeholders.
- Support packaging investigations and clash analysis using CAD tools such as CATIA, NX, or SolidWorks.
- Identify program risks, remove roadblocks, and contribute to continuous improvements in technical program management processes.
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, business, program management, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- 2+ years of experience in technical program management, project management, manufacturing, mechanical engineering, or a related field
- Experience supporting complex hardware product development throughout the design, sourcing, validation, and build lifecycle
- Demonstrated engineering mindset with strong technical curiosity and problem-solving skills
- Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent workstreams
- Experience managing Jira tickets, project schedules, and technical program execution
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across engineering and cross-functional teams
- Ability to quickly ramp up and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment
Bonus Qualifications
- Experience in automotive, robotics, aerospace, or consumer electronics
- Experience with automotive body systems, closures, latches, hinges, actuators, or mechatronic mechanisms
- Experience working with suppliers and managing hardware development programs
- Familiarity with CATIA, ENOVIA, 3DEXPERIENCE, or other PLM systems
- Experience supporting engineering releases, engineering change requests, and change actions
- Smartsheet proficiency
- Familiarity with GD&T
- Experience with autonomous vehicle technology or robotics
- Experience incorporating AI tools into daily workflows
