Job summary

Actalent is hiring a Technical Program Manager – Defense Systems in Everett, WA to lead complex aerospace and defense programs from planning through delivery. You will align engineering, manufacturing, quality, and customers, driving execution across hypersonics, missiles, propulsion, and integrated defense systems.

The role emphasizes close collaboration with engineering teams, risk management, and executive communications, with a 9/80 schedule and onsite work at the Mukilteo/Everett area.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, aerospace or related field required or equivalent.
• Demonstrated ability to develop, plan, and execute complex programs from concept through delivery.
• Proven experience leading cross-functional engineering teams on complex hardware programs.
• Experience managing cost, schedule, scope, and technical risks on aerospace/defense projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead cross-functional engineering teams in design, development, analysis, and testing of mechanical and pyrotechnic components and systems.
• Guide programs through full lifecycle from planning to delivery of complex aerospace and defense hardware.
• Interface with customers and leadership to communicate status and align objectives.
• Support business development through proposal writing and capture activities.
• Ensure documentation of engineering activities, including drawings and reports.
• Track program performance and identify risks with mitigation actions.
• Coordinate technical reviews and milestone reviews for readiness and compliance.
• Foster planning, decision-making, and change management across IPTs.
• Manage scope, cost, schedule, and technical performance while balancing priorities.
• Coordinate transition from BD to program execution for smooth handoff.
• Collaborate with Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Quality, Contracts, and Finance.
