Job summary

Metrc is seeking a Technical Program Manager to lead product delivery, partnering with Product Managers to turn strategy into execution. You’ll drive cross-functional alignment, manage dependencies, and ensure speed, quality, and predictability in a Kanban-based delivery model.

You will optimize delivery flow, facilitate agile ceremonies, and maintain dashboards while collaborating with Engineering, QA, DevOps, and external teams to unblock work and escalate risks as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in CS, Engineering, IS, Business, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4+ years of experience in technical program management or delivery leadership in a software/SaaS environment.
  • Strong understanding of Agile and Kanban methodologies and the SDLC.
  • Proven ability to manage complex, cross-functional programs with multiple stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills - able to bridge technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience with JIRA, Confluence, and delivery dashboards.
  • Familiarity with APIs, cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, and system integrations.

Responsibilities

  • Translate product strategy into executable delivery plans with Product Managers.
  • Own the Kanban flow - monitor WIP, cycle time, and throughput for smooth delivery.
  • Facilitate agile ceremonies with Engineering Leads.
  • Ensure alignment between requirements, development outputs, and test coverage.
  • Manage cross-functional dependencies, risks, and timelines across teams.
  • Unblock work and elevate risks to maintain delivery momentum.
  • Maintain delivery dashboards and provide proactive updates to stakeholders.
  • Analyze delivery metrics to identify bottlenecks and drive improvement.
  • Champion best practices in agile execution and risk management.

The Role

As a Technical Program Manager (TPM) at Metrc, you’ll be the operational lead for product delivery - partnering with Product Managers to turn strategy into execution. You’ll drive cross-functional alignment, manage dependencies, and ensure our teams deliver with speed, quality, and predictability. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a Kanban-based delivery model, excels at cross-team coordination, and is passionate about enabling engineering teams to do their best work.

Core Duties and Responsibilities
  • Partner with Product Managers to translate product strategy into executable delivery plans
  • Own the Kanban flow - monitor WIP, cycle time, and throughput to ensure smooth delivery
  • Facilitate agile ceremonies (standups, retros, planning) with Engineering Leads
  • Ensure alignment between requirements, development outputs, and test coverage
  • Manage cross-functional dependencies, risks, and timelines across Engineering, QA, DevOps, and external teams
  • Unblock work and elevate risks to maintain delivery momentum
  • Maintain delivery dashboards and provide proactive updates to stakeholders
  • Analyze delivery metrics to identify bottlenecks and drive continuous improvement
  • Champion best practices in agile execution, risk management, and team collaboration
Requirements – Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Business, or equivalent practical experience
  • 4+ years of experience in technical program management or delivery leadership in a software/SaaS environment
  • Strong understanding of Agile and Kanban methodologies and the software development lifecycle (SDLC)
  • Proven ability to manage complex, cross-functional programs with multiple stakeholders
  • Excellent communication skills - able to bridge technical and non-technical audiences
  • Experience with tools like JIRA, Confluence, and delivery dashboards
  • Familiarity with APIs, cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, and system integrations
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in regulated industries (e.g., Cannabis, FinTech, Healthcare)
  • Certifications such as PMI-ACP, CSM, SAFe, or PMP
  • Experience supporting platform teams or multi-tenant implementations
  • Understanding of DevOps practices and release management
