Responsibilities

• Lead multiple concurrent engineering projects and workstreams from kickoff through production and delivery.
• Serve as the primary day-to-day interface between customers and internal technical teams.
• Present engineering progress, schedules, risks, decisions, dependencies, and deliverables to stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain integrated program plans, project schedules, milestones, deliverables, resource needs, risk registers, and action-item trackers.
• Monitor execution across projects, identify cross-functional roadblocks and drive timely resolution.
• Translate Statements of Work, Source Control Drawings, customer requirements, and contractual deliverables into actionable program and project plans.
• Organize and lead customer meetings, technical reviews, internal program reviews, and project meetings; document decisions and track actions to closure.
• Coordinate phase-gate reviews and confirm documentation and deliverables are complete before each milestone.
• Facilitate effective communication across engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, quality, leadership, and customer teams.

Scope of the Job:

QCi is seeking a Technical Program Manager to lead and coordinate a portfolio of advanced hardware-engineering projects from customer requirements and program kickoff through development, qualification, production, and delivery. This role serves as the primary day-to-day connection between customers and internal engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, quality, and leadership teams.

The ideal candidate combines a complex hardware-engineering background with strong customer communication and disciplined program execution. This is not an IT or software-only program management role. The successful candidate will understand technical products well enough to translate customer needs, present engineering progress, oversee multiple concurrent projects, facilitate reviews, track risks and deliverables, and maintain professional, patient, and responsive customer relationships.

Duties / Responsibilities:

• Lead multiple concurrent engineering projects and workstreams across an assigned customer program or product portfolio, from kickoff through production and delivery.


• Serve as the primary day-to-day interface between customers and internal technical teams.

• Present engineering progress, schedules, risks, decisions, dependencies, and deliverables clearly to customer, technical, and leadership audiences.

• Develop and maintain integrated program plans, project schedules, milestones, deliverables, resource needs, risk registers, and action-item trackers.

• Monitor execution across projects, identify cross-functional roadblocks and schedule risks, and work with functional owners to drive timely resolution.

• Translate Statements of Work, Source Control Drawings, customer requirements, and contractual deliverables into actionable program and project plans.

• Organize and lead customer meetings, technical reviews, internal program reviews, and project meetings; document decisions and track actions to closure.

• Coordinate phase-gate reviews and confirm that required documentation and deliverables are complete before each program milestone.

• Facilitate effective communication across engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, quality, leadership, and customer teams.

• Support proposal development through program planning, schedule development, assumptions, dependencies, and engineering effort estimates.

• Use Microsoft Project, Jira, Excel, and related tools to monitor execution, dependencies, resources, and overall program status.

• Support New Product Introduction and engineering change management activities across the program lifecycle.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering Management, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.


• 2+ years of experience coordinating engineering, hardware product-development, NPI, project, or program activities. Candidates with more extensive relevant experience are also encouraged to apply.


• Technical experience in at least one complex hardware area such as photonics, optics, electronics, RF, semiconductors, semiconductor equipment, aerospace systems, or comparable engineered products.


• Experience managing multiple concurrent engineering projects, workstreams, priorities, schedules, and deliverables.


• Strong customer-facing communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.


• Experience leading program or project reviews and communicating technical information to customers, engineers, and management teams.


• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary engineering teams and managing milestones, risks, dependencies, action items, and phase-gate reviews.


• Ability to interpret customer requirements, SOWs, SCDs, and engineering deliverables and convert them into organized, actionable plans.


• Proficiency with Microsoft Project, Jira, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Office.

Additional Preferred Skills:

• Experience owning a portfolio of related hardware-development projects or customer programs.


• Experience in photonics, aerospace, space, defense, telecommunications, semiconductor, or another high-reliability industry.


• Familiarity with New Product Introduction, engineering change management, and structured product-development processes.


• Familiarity with ITAR and regulated U.S. government, aerospace, or defense programs.


• Prior experience in a customer-facing Technical Program Manager, Engineering Program Manager, or similar hardware-focused role.
