Job summary

Yondr Group is seeking a Technical SME responsible for all electrical, control, and mechanical assets in a data center. You will design, maintain and improve critical infrastructure, approve procedures, and lead root-cause analyses after incidents while overseeing project execution and asset lifecycle management.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and 8–10 years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of standard practices in design, construction, commissioning and testing of electrical equipment.
• Experience in projects and basic project management, documentation and collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Maintain 100% uptime of building infrastructure using all reasonable means, balancing safety, financials and client needs.
• Oversee life cycle management of all critical systems and assets at the site.
• Write technical specifications and reports for asset maintenance and improvements.
• Ensure compliance with Yondr Group processes; coordinate with site staff and facilities provider.
• Monitor maintenance programs and coordinate with Ops teams; approve procedures for normal and emergency operations.
• Lead and oversee root-cause analyses and improvements after incidents; manage project execution for improvements.
• Represent ownership in factory acceptance tests and site testing and commissioning.
• Draft site rules in line with local regulations and company requirements, coordinating with HSE and engineering teams.
• Provide input to services design and coordinate other packages; support cost and risk assessments.

About The Role

As a Technical SME, you are responsible for all electrical, controls, and mechanical assets in the data center. Because the data center is a highly critical environment, the stakes are high and you will have an important stake in the fulfilling of the Yondr operational tasks. To enable you to fulfil this responsibility, you will be involved in the design and acceptance of new data centers, defining the maintenance regime for your assets, approving operational procedures for the maintenance and incident management as well as auditing the completion thereof. To ensure optimal functioning of your assets, you will approve root cause analysis and improvements after incidents happen, as well as propose improvements to optimize the functioning of your assets. For the implementation of these improvements, you will act as project owner and oversee the completion of the project.

Main Responsibilities

• Ensure Building maintains 100% uptime using all reasonable means and methods to achieve, taking into consideration Health & Safety and financial obligations but still keeping focus on client needs
• Be overall responsible for all critical infrastructure aspects of site
• Responsible for the life cycle management of all critical systems and assets
• Write technical specifications and reports
• Ensuring complete compliance in regard to Yondr Group processes and procedures, also ensuring Local in-house staff and FM provider demonstrate compliance with processes and procedures
• Monitor the maintenance program of critical assets and coordinate these activities with all Yondr Ops team
• Coordinate the writing and approval of all procedures for normal and emergency operations
• Providing and assisting the site technical Yondr team and Site Operations Manager in all reports. These could be daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual and will be of technical nature
• Assist the management in the preparation / review of project costs, risk assessments
• Respond to incidents and instruct the FM teams on how to react in different
• Responsible for electrical, mechanical and life safety systems related statutory registrations and management to ensure compliance with local regulations
• Develop and maintain vendor relationships ensuring continuous technical professional development
• Provide input to the services design, and support the coordination of other services packages.
• Represent the Ownership on factory acceptance tests and site testing & commissioning activities
• In the functions of the site SME write the site rules in compliance with local legislation and Yondr requirements while coordinating with HSE, CEM, and Technical Engineering.
• As site SME you will be granted the authority over the electrical installation as prescribed by law.

Qualifications And Experience

• A bachelor degree in electrical engineering or equivalent
• At least 8 - 10 years relevant working experience in electrical design and / or installation
• Good knowledge of standard practices in the design and construction industry
• Good knowledge of standard practices in commissioning and testing of electrical equipment
• Good understanding of the daily (operational) business of critical environments
• Experience in developing projects, and basic project management functions of document management, excellent communication and collaboration
• Availability to provide emergency cover as required.
