Job summary

Armtec Defense Technologies seeks an Engineering Leader to serve as the technical authority for the engineering IPT, delivering integrated designs, processes, and automation solutions in a defense manufacturing setting.

The role combines hands-on design, analysis, experimentation, and mentoring for a small team (8-12 members), ensuring safe operations with hazardous materials and alignment with program objectives. Collaboration with PM, QA, and Planners is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years in engineering roles within defense/aerospace manufacturing.
• 1+ years in technical leadership or supervisory capacity.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams on capital projects and process optimizations.
• Familiarity with DoD programs and safety compliance.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical direction and coordinate engineering tasks across the subgroup to meet safety, quality, delivery, and cost goals.
• Mentor and develop direct reports (e.g., Industrial/Mechanical/Controls engineers; Engineering Technician).
• Develop and manage project plans and technology roadmaps aligned with IPT objectives.
• Collaborate with IPT on new product/process designs to ensure smooth manufacturing transitions.
• Perform troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and drive corrective actions for product/process issues.
• Prepare and lead technical sections of proposals; interface with customers on technical matters.
