Job summary

EDAG in Novi, Michigan seeks a Technical Program Lead to coordinate vendor teams and drive automotive development programs from prototype to production. You will lead engineering decisions, ensure parts meet client requirements, and manage mass, cost, and schedule across multiple workstreams.

The role requires strong cross-functional collaboration, PPAP experience, and direct OEM interface negotiations, with accountability for program milestones and vendor performance to ensure timely delivery

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field.
  • 10+ years in automotive/vehicle-systems engineering with senior leadership.
  • Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams from prototype to production.
  • Strong knowledge of exterior/interior vehicle integration.
  • Experience managing supplier relationships, DFM, and PPAP.
  • Proven ability to manage cost, mass, and timing targets across programs.
  • Experience negotiating with OEM on base-vehicle interface.

Responsibilities

  • Manage vendor team resources and distribute work to meet the program timing.
  • Provide technical guidance and leadership to the engineering team, making design decisions and ensuring components meet the client's requirements.
  • Guide material selection and manufacturing technology choices to balance build volume against capital investment, subject to the clients' sign-off.
  • Track mass and program cost/spend against targets.
  • Serve as primary point of contact and escalation lead between the vendor team and the clients Lead Engineer/Management team.
  • Ensure the vendor team operates independently while using the clients Lead Engineer effectively to achieve overall program goals.
  • Represent the vendor at program gateway reviews and status presentations to the client's leadership.

DESCRIPTION

REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor'sin Engineering, Business, or related field.
  • 10+ years of automotive or vehicle-systems engineering experience, including senior technical leadership roles.
  • Demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams through prototype to production-intent vehicle programs.
  • Strong working knowledge of structural, mechanical, and packaging integration for exterior/interior vehicle systems.
  • Experience managing supplier relationships, DFM processes, and component release through PPAP.
  • Proven ability to manage cost, mass, and timing targets across a multi-workstream program.
  • Prior experience working directly with an OEMon base-vehicle interface negotiations.
  • 8 months contract
