Summary:

The Technical Product Support Engineer (TPS) will work as a part of the Implant Global Product Support (GPS) team in the semiconductor industry for Applied Materials. This position is based in France and requires travel to customer sites across Europe. Responsibilities include supporting New Product Introduction (NPI), first-in-fab tool installations, and handling field/customer escalations. The role involves face-to-face interaction with field service personnel and customers, including equipment, process, and section managers. Adherence to safety protocols, off-shift work, travel, and basic to intermediate troubleshooting are required.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support product introduction and first-in-fab tool installations in the field
  • Travel to customer sites on short notice for machine downtime, upgrades, and retrofits
  • Work off-shift hours and weekends as needed
  • Develop advanced expertise in analytical/scientific areas for complex troubleshooting
  • Create presentations, tables, and charts using PowerPoint and Excel to communicate project and issue status
  • Coordinate efforts with related teams to achieve objectives
  • Take on team leadership during onsite projects and escalations, including facilitating conference calls, providing status reports, and guiding junior team members
  • Use judgment to identify and solve problems with little or no precedent
  • Communicate effectively with tact and diplomacy
Additional Requirements:
  • Education: High School Diploma/GED; Trade School is a plus
  • Experience: Over 2 years of VIISta Implant experience preferred; 4-7 years in semiconductor industry; compensation based on experience
  • Hours: 1st Shift, Monday to Friday, 8am – 5pm
