RaceTrac is seeking a Technical Product Owner to drive the product lifecycle for the assigned technology portfolio. You will partner with business users and technology teams to design frictionless experiences and deliver value across systems and reports.

You will lead agile ceremonies, manage the backlog, write user stories, and ensure alignment with roadmaps and KPIs. Strong analytical, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or IT.
  • Experience managing a product portfolio and agile delivery.
  • Strong analytical and stakeholder management skills.
  • Knowledge of HR systems (HCM/Payroll) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead product team priorities in standups, sprint planning, and agile ceremonies.
  • Oversee updates, testing, and implementation of system enhancements.
  • Provide strategic guidance on using talent systems and define product vision.
  • Influence product strategy and roadmaps with stakeholders to meet KPIs.
  • Lead backlog grooming and communicate prioritization to development teams.
  • Gather requirements with IS and business stakeholders and write user stories.
  • Maintain a prioritized backlog and clarify acceptance criteria for stories.
  • Support real-time queries during sprints and resolve roadblocks.
  • Monitor product performance and apply feedback from launches.

Job Description:

The Technical Product Owner is responsible for driving the product management lifecycle for their assigned technology portfolio. This individual partners with functional areas to discover, design, and develop frictionless experiences that work to leverage technology, supporting the end goal of making end user’s lives simpler and more enjoyable. This role will be a liaison between the business, including end users, while providing technical guidance, hands‑on troubleshooting and support, custom configuration, and complex report creation.

Responsibilities:
  • Leads the product team’s priorities and updates in daily standups, sprint planning, and other agile ceremonies; working in collaboration with managers, stakeholders, & a variety of technology partners.
  • Oversees updates and enhancements. Manages, tests, and implements systems updates and enhancements, communicating potential changes that could impact users and administrators
  • Utilizes expert knowledge of talent systems and business processes to provide internal customers with strategic planning/suggestions on how to best utilize the systems and identify the product vision and success criteria for the product portfolio.
  • Partners with stakeholders to create and influence product strategy and roadmaps, aggregate and conceive ideas for enhancing product performance and achieving product success/KPIs.
  • Leads Agile backlog grooming sessions by presenting upcoming features to the development team.
  • Collaborates with IS and business stakeholders to lead requirements gathering, determine features, and write user stories for products that include acceptance criteria and acceptance tests. Participates in team demo with the primary responsibility of reviewing and business acceptance.
  • Builds and maintains a prioritized product backlog and effectively communicates prioritization decisions and the agile process to various teams.
  • Available to technical team during development sprints in order to answer real-time questions and provide clarity to user stories or remove roadblocks.
  • Reviews analysis and performance monitoring for specified products. Supports problem resolution, resolves issues and acts on feedback and usage of in-life products.
  • Contributes to product collateral and monitors results and feedback from product launches.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited College or University required; Computer Science, Engineering or Information Technology preferred
  • 4+ years’ experience in managing product portfolio
  • Expertise in understanding and analyzing market research results, product usage analytics, and user feedback
  • Experience defining and delivering large-scale digital initiatives including stakeholder management, requirements elicitation, testing and communication planning
  • Demonstrated technical acumen around HCM, Benefits, and Payroll systems and an ability to work with the technology organization to align product and technology roadmaps
  • Experience with agile methodology is strongly preferred
