Job Description
The Technical Product Manager (TPM) is a results‐oriented, highly organized individual with a talent for breaking down high-level customer problems and opportunities into discrete actionable pieces of value. The TPM has a passion and capability for contributing to the development of world-class online learning solutions – delivered on‐time and on‐quality. The TPM is a self‐directed team member with demonstrated leadership potential to effectively work across multiple teams, products, and/or platforms.
Remote – EST/CST hours are preferred.
About the Role:
- As part of our Technical Product Management (TPM) team, you will enable the agile teams you work with to build engaging products to address the needs of authors, making it easier/faster/better to create and maintain product for K-12 teachers and students.
- The Technical Product Manager will play a key role in understanding the problems authors face every day, building that empathy within the teams you work, and managing the team’s backlog as they work to solve those problems.
- You’ll articulate requirements, analyzing workflow and processes, write user stories and test plans.
- In this role, you will also help your teams develop healthy, productive, and effective ways of working together.
What you will be doing
- Gain a deep understanding of how authors use client platforms & products by collaborating directly with authoring teams to develop new requirements.
- As your team(s) Scrum Master, you facilitate agile ceremonies including stand ups, refinement, planning, demos and retrospectives to ensure delivery of customer value based on achievable goals/milestones.
- Support the team in product & feature testing activities, UX sessions, coordination of Business Acceptance Testing (BAT), and triage of customer-reported defects.
- Expand your knowledge of the digital ecosystem, including enterprise services, K12 platforms, and internal tools. Share this knowledge through documentation and training.
- Draft project charters, requirements, and themes/epics/stories while considering and/or incorporating inputs from all stakeholders. The TPM translates requests and customer needs into working requirements for the engineering team and works with the engineering team to ensure that the delivered product/service is in line with the desired functionality for roadmap milestones.
- As a champion for your team, you actively identify and eliminate their distractions and ensure that the value your team creates for the business is clear and understood.
- Ensure cross-team dependencies are identified, understood by all affected teams, and then properly managed. When the TPM is dependent upon multiple teams, it is the TPM’s responsibility to lead cross-team collaboration and coordination that results in a successful end-to-end user experience. This cross-team communication, leadership, and alignment are essential for the TPM to be successful.
- In partnership with your leadership group and team you cultivate a team culture that embraces transparency, collaboration and trust.
- Support production release activities including pre-release tasks, scheduling of deployments, and cross-team dependencies. Compose release notes and training materials to support implementation of new features and workflows.
- Assist in troubleshooting and resolving customer-reported issues; assess trends and suggest enhancements to drive down call volume and improve the customer experience in the platform.

- Strong commitment to operational excellence, passion for collaboration, attention to detail, and the ability to navigate stakeholder relationships objectively.
- Product management experience working with K12 EdTech products and customers.
- Strong decision-making, persuasion, and negotiation skills
- Ability to understand and transform technical concepts into non-technical terms that are understandable by business and customer stakeholders and teams.
- Proven success at influencing and collaborating across teams and work cultures; must be able to collaborate effectively with diverse personalities and skill sets and enjoy constructive conflict.
- Acute attention to detail, ability to analyze complex systems, and expertise in managing multiple projects concurrently.
- Excellent verbal, written, demo, interpersonal, and organizational communication skills; must be able to communicate with technical teams and business stakeholders, as well as clearly document new software solutions, features, and implementation guides for these audiences.
- A Familiarity with Confluence and Jira with interest in becoming an expert.
- Ideal candidate would also be familiar with GitHub, SQL, and API clients such as Insomnia and Postman.
