Job summary

On-Demand Group seeks a Technical Product Manager to lead development of the organization’s point-of-sale software, supporting franchise operations and brand delivery while delivering value to owners and employees.

The role emphasizes shaping product strategy, building roadmaps, and partnering with technology teams and the POS vendor to enhance features, while training and enabling franchise staff to use new capabilities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in technology or related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of equivalent product management experience preferred.
  • Leadership from strategy through launch.
  • Strong understanding of SDLC and POS integrations.
  • Ability translate stakeholder needs into technical solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Drive product visions and strategies aligned with goals.
  • Understand franchise owners' needs via relationships and site visits.
  • Design roadmaps and prioritize deliveries.
  • Define user stories and requirements.
  • Serve as SME for the POS software solution.
  • Partner with tech teams and POS vendor to develop features.
  • Work with BAs to design requirements, perform UAT, and approve releases.
  • Lead go-to-market efforts for new features and products.
  • Lead training efforts for franchise owners and employees.
  • Deliver presentations on key product messages and functionality.
  • Collaborate with Business Technology Services to establish best practices.
  • Listen to stakeholders and build trust through feedback.

Job description

As a Technical Product Manager for the organization's point-of-sale software solution, you will lead product development efforts to create digital solutions that support franchise operations, brand delivery, and provide value to franchise owners and their employees.

These challenges, paired with a personalized development plan and opportunities to grow your technical leadership skills, will allow you to continue advancing your product management expertise.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Driving product visions and strategies that align with overall product vision and business goals
  • Gaining an understanding of franchise owners and end users' needs through relationship building, participation in committees, leading pilot groups, and spending time within operating locations
  • Designing roadmaps that plan and prioritize what product teams will deliver and when
  • Defining user stories and requirements
  • Serving as the subject matter expert for the organization's point-of-sale software solution
  • Partnering with technology teams and the organization's point-of-sale vendor to develop new features, resolve bugs, and enhance products
  • Working directly with business analysts to design requirements, perform user acceptance testing, and approve releases for market
  • Leading go-to-market efforts for new features and products
  • Leading the development of training efforts that empower franchise owners and employees to effectively use products
  • Delivering presentations to audiences about key product messages and functionality
  • Working with other members of the Business Technology Services team to establish product management best practices and processes across the organization
  • Listening, earning trust, and accepting direct feedback from franchise owners while building strong, positive relationships
Your Expertise

Whether you have already held positions as a Technical Product Manager or have been involved in driving the direction of digital products in another capacity, successful candidates will demonstrate the ability to:

  • Bachelor's degree in technology or a related field is desired
  • 5+ years of equivalent experience is preferred
  • Lead product management efforts through strategy, planning, execution, and launch
  • Collaborate with technology teams with a strong understanding of and ability to follow SDLC processes
  • Understand the ins and outs of point-of-sale systems and their integration with other retail and operational technology
  • Use both business and technology acumen to effectively build product strategies and roadmaps
  • Think creatively and innovate
  • Organize ideas and prioritize initiatives while considering competing priorities and resource capacity
  • Provide guidance and accountability to vendor partners
  • Understand technology concepts and what it takes to develop technology solutions
  • Close the communication gap between technical teams and non-technical departments through strong written and verbal communication
  • Listen to stakeholders and translate their needs into technology solutions
  • Influence others and gain support for ideas
  • Deliver effective presentations and communicate confidently with groups
  • Stay current on developments and trends within technology and the marketplace
